You're right. I worked for a few months as an Account Manager at Coca Cola Enterprises in Smithtown, New York. The amount of turn-over and churn in employees was headspinning. Why? Because their main position, Account Manager/Sales, pays very little, basically entry level pay at 34K a year. On top of that there's no commision and capped bonuses which are not based on individual performance but on entire group performance---essentially small to no bonuses.
The hours are lousy, 10 days; customers scream at you because CCE has a lousy rep with eatery owners; on top of that, management at most levels is lousy and there new employee training is low to non-existant. As a result they go through people like Kleenex.
It's no exaggeration to say that it was one of the worst jobs I ever had and one of the worst companies I worked for. I'm not surprised at their financial position.
