01/16/2014 My recruiter emailed and asked me to to provide my license and insurance ID card.

01/17/2014 My recruiter emailed me and said "Hi, We still have you as pending until the docs are reviewed. Stay tuned…."

I was hoping to hear something today. But this is such a long process and I am being dragged around so much, I might start entertaining other job offers. I will give it until Monday, but don't expect this to go fast lol.

Angel, I had no group interviews it was all one-on-one. The questions are all opinion based for the CommTech position. They are questions such as; Why do you want to work for Comcast?, Tell us about steps you have taken to defuse a customer irate situation., Name a time where you had to break a rule to finish a job., and Why should we hire you?. So, I can't tell you if they are hard, that is up to your experience. They DO like for you to dress-up for this interview. Although they told me to wear slacks and a polo, I wore a suit and the interviewer was impressed by that. Other than that it was very relaxed and it was more them selling me the job than me trying to get it, if that makes any sense? Don't know what it will be like for sales, but if you go in confident and prepared I am sure you will do fine.

Rob in Jacksonville, Florida said: 01/20/2014 Got my final offer letter for the job.

Hope this timeline and information will help someone else.

Hello Rob. I have a question for you.

On 1/16/14 I passed my Comcast assessment online and when the recruiter on the phone asked me if I worked at Comcast I told her yes. I explained to her that during one of the courses when in training for the CommTech 1 you have to take a computer test and pass. Then I told her I was ONE question away from passing a particular section test. You had to score like a 88 and I scored a 84 or a 86 (questions were either 2 or 4 points a piece, can't really pinpoint what the exact passing grade was).

The recruiter then sends a email back to the office here in my area to check to see if that would affect me anyway in proceeding forward. She called me back and informed me that since I failed that one section of training by ONE QUESTION I'm not eligible to be rehired !!! How does that make any sense two and a half years after?!? You can't give a person a second shot at going through the process again??? Mind you this was back in 2012.

I was escorted out and lead to sign my letter stating that I am forfeiting my position and told I can reapply in 6 months. How does my test situation still hang over my head 2 and a half years after?!?

Are they full of it and giving me a run around this time? I would appreciate if you or someone can confirm what I can do to be able to work there again.

Ok so I applied for the call center position. I got the phone interview and the recruiter invited me for a in-person interview at the call center. she told me to bring 3 copies of my resume. here is the thing I lied on my resume. I really didn't think I was going to get the job other wise because I have been working as a Corrections officer for the past 6 years ad have no recent customer service or sales experience. Does Comcast really do a work history check? if they do, is there anyway I can salvage this debacle?

Hi Rob I am in the exact same position as you are with the background check. I had to send in a copy of my w-2 and a copy of my diploma to carco but when they finished the background check the found discrepancies on my driving record. The ones that the found where ones that I told them about during my interview process, so I explained the discrepancies, but now I am waiting to here something back. Have you heard anything yet?

I applied for comm tech1 on 4/21/14, got an email from the recruiter the following day to take the online assessment test, which I passed. Then on 4/25/14, I did the phone interview, which went well. The questions were common and bit tough (for me that is) but I did good on the interview and she said I was best fit for the position and she wanted me to move on to the next step, which was in-person interview. Got the email on 4/28/14 for in-person interview on 5/2/14... When I got there, the interview took about 45-50 minutes. The manager, introduced himself and his work history, a good guy by the way. Then we went on to the questions, with the most common questions "tell me about yourself and work history, etc." After that, I asked few questions, which he'll ask you if you had any questions. You need answers to. Once the interview was over, he told me that he actually wanted me to part of the team and wanted me to move on to the next step. He said that HR people were going to get in contact with me for the next step.

So as you have seen my Timeline, and I know I'm only 4 days after the interview, but I haven't heard anything from the HR dept. Should I contact my recruiter and asked her about my status or just wait it out til they call me? I don't want to sound like I'm desperate but I'm really excited about joining comcast comm tech team.

Idk bout the department you applied for but when I interviewed the hiring team was told that they would recover call backs within 24 hours.

I was offered the job in less than 12 hours.

I would follow up.

If your background check has been completed and you have not heard back you need to follow up.

I has to call to get the official word.

My start date is 5/27 as well.

I was told the reason they have not sent out official welcome packages is bc they are busy completing everyone's schedule after training.

Does anyone know who I can contact to see what the status is. The person interviewing me said that they would contact the potential employees, either way, within a week or so..

I applied for comcast for CAE Rep 1 and was suppose to start class 07/21/2014 well they did not receive my background check until 07/24/2014. My recruiter never informed me of this I had to reach out to her for this info. She said I could start the next class that starts 09/02/2014 and I do not have to interview over, or retake drug test or background. She did say I had to reapply and she sent the link. I reapplied and let her know that I did so. I also asked her to send me the final offer letter for confirmation at the end of July. She stated she would send it as it gets closer to the start date. Im not so sure because she did not communicate with me previously I had to stay informed by continuing to contact her. It is now 08/08/14 and still no final offer letter. I don't want to seem pushy but I would like to know my training hours so that I can consult with my daughters babysitter. What date should I try to contact her again?

I would say either wait a week or two and then call her again or just email her. I think maybe she thinks a few weeks before the date is closer to the training date. Either way you should be happy that you do have the offer and it's final.

Okay so I received my final offer letter the same day as my original post. I'm really excited but what seemed odd was that my final offer did not include training hours. Does anyone know if I will find that out later? Can someone who received a final offer let me know what details should be included?

I just got hired as a Commtech in Auburn. I'm extremely ecstatic about the opportunity. I look forward to the transition from 25 to this new position. I see this as a career with plenty of opportunity to grow that I will retire from. I was hired at 14.25. Does anyone know how long it takes in this area to reach Commtech 1 & 3. Also does anyone have an idea how long it takes. I'm ready to get begin training and be the sponge that soaks up every bit of information to be the best tech I can be. I know it's a job that involves a lot of hard work and I'm willing to go above and beyond to reach a salary that provides for the lifestyle my family truly does deserve. I'm glad to be a Comcaster

So to shun some light on my commtech journey,
I applied online via comcast.com (went to the site every morning until finally a position in my area) I originally wanted call rep,but thought of the skills and knowledge being a tech could provide, about to weeks after applying I received an email with a link to take my assessment (not hard as some of you make it) it's common sense and basic knowledge.you can't blame comcast for not wanting to hire dumb people,if you don't have basic mechanical and common sense knowledge how do you exspect to learn the inner workings of cable internet and fiber?,anyway, after completing the online assessment I recieved a call from my recruiter and scheduled a group information session (GIS) there, they interviewed separately and made there decisions based on best qualified candidates, luckily I had a really nice supervisor who helped me tremendously because I was well manner and didn't put on a "perfect candidate act" I walked in told the truth and stood my grown mannerably. Afterwards I interviews the same day (second interview) with the manager.she liked me and then the waiting game began.i advise ALL OF YOU NOT TO QUIT YOUR CURRENT JOB UNTIL YOU GET TO YOUR START DATE.after 2 or 3 weeks got an email saying they were still making a decision based on the interviews and best qualifications.a week later I recieved an email saying they had chosen me to move forward.after that I recieved instructions on my background check and drug screening,(your background check WILL take long be patient).after completing and 2 weeks of waiting I finally started doing ride alongs,I am currently attending comcast university and receiving all certifications.you will get your own van,and phone (iphone 4 or 5,whichever is available) AFTER you comete comcast university 6-8 weeks maybe shorter-longer in your area.

This has been one of the most stressful processes I have been through. Long story short, I made it through all phases up to the bg check for comm tech 1.

Then carco sent me two separate emails over a week span.

One pretaining to a job I had. It was temp labor through a moving company. The guy never worked me so I found a new job.
He tells carco I stormed off a job and quit which was bs. I told my interviewer what had happened prior to the bg check.

Secondly, I recieved a misdemeanor for unlawful possession of a fire arm and they asked me about that also. I put "paid 400 in fines" but they came back with "we see you paid 802. Care to explain"?

That last interaction was over a week ago. Its the 3rd and training is supposed to be the tenth.

Recruiter wont reply or return calls.

Am I just screwed? I told my interviewer about both of those things.

I have a question that I did not see anyone asked. My backround check was completed in about 3/4 days, which was 12/30. I called for the status and they told me it has been completed and sent to the corporate office from there it should trickle down to your recruiter. Do anyone have an idea how long that take?

You don't take a background check or UA until after you have been contacted by HR with an offer letter. They will tell you how long you have to complete the UA and info for Carco background check which can take about a week and a half.
