If you don't get that email you are still in the running for the position. Also she saI'd that you would be notified as soon as it is decided that you are out of the running.

I'm glad to hear that. Maybe, there's still hope. Fingers crossed!

I did an app for them, when I got the confirmation of them getting it, they said about doing the assessment, they had the URL but it wasn't a link, just plain text.I'm on my smart phone, and I wrote down the EXACT link and it STILL isn't working. Can ANYBODY send me the link? Please

Applied online on a Friday. Monday got an email for a phone interview. Called set that up for tuesday morning. Also got an email shortly after the first one to take an assessment test. Took that test tuesday morning after I tried to research anything about it. How I ended up here. Like most had said personality parts were not timed other parts were. Wasn't any math on the test but mechanical aptitude and that was timed. Phone interview went over job description and then had questioned asking you to describe situations you had been in and how you handled them. I have now gotten another email to take another assessment test.

Second email was on accident. Only had one assessment test to take. Still waiting to hear anything back from them.

I applied for a few CAE positions with Comcast in the Chicagoland area and was emailed an invitation to take the online assessment. I googled the assessment and came up with a few results that had me a bit uneasy...

To say the least, the assessment had NOTHING to do with math, it was simply a simulation of a call center and how you would respond. Very NTERESTING

There were also a series of character questions asked several times but worded differently in an attempt to see how valid your responses are. You can't study for this assessment, it requires time, a trained ear, knowing the company's policies and using it to assist your customers, and perhaps some experience in handling customer accounts.

The questions were pretty difficult but,I was able to answer all the questions in the 3 mins they gave me. I don't remember no math questions on the test though, Maybe cause I was nervous. I have a inner view lined up for Friday. I'm looking forward to working for Comcast , given that my inner view runs smooth. The position I applied for was a Tech. Always tested well in school just never did any home work. My advice. Just stay focused on the question 1st, then find a way to solve the problem the shortest method possible. Kind of like speed reading. You can turn a sentence of words upside down & still know what it's pretty much saying by the verbs in the sentence. I have a G.E.D. and no college experience. Also been out of school for over 15 years. Good luck... Hope this little post can help at least one person.

Haha inner view

I agree with you what does this test have to do with installing cable... NOTHING and I also failed it. The test was set up to fail in my opinion. I have installed cable for years and this test has nothing to do with the job itself.

Right before I took the assessment test for Comcast (I applied for the Sales Consultant position), I looked at this page; and thought to myself, maybe I am making the biggest mistake if these posts are complaining about the assessment test. I took the assessment test, Saturday morning, and it wasn't so bad after all. Personality questions, coding questions, and basic true or false. I passed the first time, and was schedule my first face to face interview.

It depends on what position you applied for. I passed my assessment test the first, and it wasn't that bad, like these posts make it out to seem. Face it, in every job in any field you will need to take assessment tests. Every test I have taken, especially in retail, isn't that hard, and I am not a great test taker by any means of the word. If you know how to handle yourself, in stressful situation with customers, you're good to go.

I took the assessment and didnt get any such message and assumed I didn't pass. I could be wrong. I thought I had read/heard that. If that's not the case I would be thrilled.

They will call you, to setup a one on one interview. I got my call last night, when I was closing at work. They left a voicemail, asking to schedule me for an interview.

I am looking forward to the test.
Coming from a cabling background I can say that there are many people who can learn to perform the basic tasks necessary, I myself have trained many! But I will also say that several of those I worked with and some of those I trained, would not pass a personality test and would likely make small but irritating mistakes on any math test.
If their test keeps hot headed complainers from working there, it is sounding like a pretty good place to work for. If you can't accept failure, if you can't stay calm and thoughtful during stressful situations or when work is piled around your ears, if you can't communicate intelligently using whole sentences, proper grammar and etiquette, then you are not the best representative for most companies which require close customer interaction.

For those people I suggest working for a company that values getting stuff done over getting it done nicely.
Construction companies and smaller businesses are best suited to work around people who either will not or cannot adjust their personality and work habits to fit their employer's needs. Every job is a trade, you trade something of yourself and your time for benefits and financial compensation. Each person is free to determine how much of themselves they are willing to trade for employment.

WOW I just took this test and I have been doing cable in one form or another for 20 years and I have never seen anything like this. And to be honest NONE of it had a thing to do with cable television installation. Plus with the timer I didn't even get them all done, because I was looking at them trying to figure out the answer. Sooooooooo I figure that was a waste of an hour lol. We will see though. I worked for Comcast as a subcontractor years ago so I have a good idea of how they do stuff but obviously over time things have changed and I would need a refresher but that test was brutal. lol

Their tech assessment is a joke to be honest. Had absolutely nothing to do with anything even related to the position applied for. I almost thought I was applying for a plumbing job at first... Had to double check it was a Comcast test.

I am a a current employee, I remember the test and honestly that test is geared for comm techs in Comcast. If you didn't pass the test you will most likely fail Comcast university. Cable math is an entire week long for example, learning how to calculate impedance. You must be able to calculate the forward the the return signals on multiple frequencies. For example if your high is 750MHz and your low is 54MHz then your rule of thumb for the high is 6db of loss per 100ft and the low is 2 db of loss per 100ft, and thats on the forward. Then you have your passive devices, a three way splitter for example has 3.5 db of loss. In the new digital world signal is very important the signal requirement is -8 to +10 however Comcast is -8 to +8 , not to mention that Comcast is a closed network and we have to constantly monitor ingress and egress. I know this doesn't help pass the test just hoping it helps explain the importance of the test.

I've been updating this quite often through my experience with Comcast. This company is terrible to get into. I took the test which should have taken a few hours but almost took them a day to send it to me. After the test I was scheduled an interview. Got cancelled. Had to wait another week. Again, got cancelled. Very unreliable.

My Comcast test didn't have any math questions. The questions were about finding the details in simple requests: "Customer A cannot withdraw from account B because of rule C. True or false. The rest of the test were those cockmamie, idiotic personality questions: "I am aggressive" Agree, Agree a Little Bit, Agree a Tiny Little Bit, Disagree a Wee Little Bit, Disagree Strongly. It seemed like hundreds of questions like that, until my eyes crossed. "I m a leader," and "I stand alone at parties and watch the clam dip turn black." The interviewer said, and I quote, "I would like to hire you today!" The test fouled me up.

I just took the test and it was outrageously hard. I was applying for the Comcast Communications Technician. I would love to work for Comcast and I am eager to learn everything I don't already know. I'm a bit upset that they would deny people simply due to a test, which in my opinion, had many questions which would not pertain to the job itself in practice.
If anyone from Comcast recruitment is monitoring this, I sincerely hope I do not have to wait 6 months to reapply...
