Hi all, I just applied for an Inbound Sales Rep. position at a local call center. Does anyone know what this position pays and if there is much chance to advance? I have 2 years call center experience for a major insurance company and a Bachelor's degree. Also, what are the typical work hours? Thanks in advance. |

I just finished all of the interviews for that same position here in Michigan. I have a bachelors degree in Business Management. I told them that I would expect to advance within a year. They said it would depend on my performance, so I asked a friend who works there, and she said only the best of the best advance. Basically unless your sales are stellar, top notch, you are staying in the same position. It pays $11.75 an hour standard. No commission which I thought was odd being that its a sales job. But I don't have many other opportunities at the moment so I guess I will have to take it and hope I exceed my sales goals and performace expectations! After all, people will have cable and internet even when they dont have much money, so I think the industry is one of the more stable industries in the economy. And Comcast is a leader for sure, so if you really apply yourself and make yourself shine, it could be a great opportunity. I just don't think its going to be handed to you easily. |

oh forgot about telling you the hours...basically you will work as per the needs in the call center. So Comcast is open what? 8a-10p? you work a variety of hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, everything. that was a bit of a turnoff to me, but if u advance things could get better. |

People WILL have internet as they rely on this to "make a living" working from home. As far as cable I know many People are busy and don't have much time for TV anyway are becomiing more active anyway getting involved with their community and their children. Nothing is ever handed to you. It requires work. However, I'll be honest, you can't live on $11.75/hr. Not these days. At least not comfortably. If your looking for something that will bring you commissions. A business with residual income is the way to go. Our goal is to retire early so that our business will only need maintenance so we can ENJOY life but our VISION is to reach that goal in our 40's ~ |
