Either its a scam, or they don't want to pay anybody. My resume looks EXACTLY like the requisition. In fact I have more experience than they are looking for. CPPM, Sunflower, already a GMD Property Manager for a subcontractor. Deal with Boeing Contracts, Property, Engineering, and site folks on a daily basis. Also, I'm local, no additional interviewing costs for them. NO phone call or email response.

How do you know that ?? You would think they would at least pre-screen applicants with an initial phone call.

Hey guys, CSC is a major contractor for the NASA test site we have here. Sorry, but EVERY company out there takes forever to answer to their applicants. They only get in touch with the ones they want to interview, they never send letters saying: "Sorry but we already filled the position". I know of people who got a call from them for an interview after almost 6 months they had applied for the job. They couldn't even remember the position they applied for anymore!
But, the big deal is... This position you guys re talking about has a very clear specification. YOU MUST take a typing test prior to submitting your application online, they want to receive the scores beforehand so they know you meet the 40wpm without errors.
If you didn't do it, sorry, you can have a perfect resume, but showed them you can't follow instructions!
Good luck to everybody!

CSC has shifted all of these jobs to India. If you don't believe it, look at the job openings on CSC's website for DBAs and see where they are located.

My wife had a interview for this very job. They are just a bit selective. Many, many applicants, therefore probably can not get back to everyone. India is not a bad choice if the average American costs too much in wages and benny's.

After an initial phone interview and then a face-to-face interview (traveling 2 hrs.), I have heard nothing for more than 2 months. I am surprised this has happened since I was specifically told in the interview they were in a hurry to hire and that I would hear back VERY soon. After e-mailing and getting no response, I phoned the HR person and was told they were caught in the middle and were frustrated because they weren't being told anything. My e-mails since then have again gone unanswered. The way this has been handled gives me a very bad impression of the company.

Bull!!! I applied for and had an intervew for this position a few weeks ago. They called me and told me that I was thier first choice. Every thing was fine until we started talking about money and benefits. After I had asked for some clear definitions of their medical benefits, I never heard from them again and they re-posted the position. Very strange. It's probably just as well,if they act that way when they are trying to hire you, can't imagine it gets better after that. And there was no typing test requested before or after applying.

SCAM

I was offered this position and turned it down two weeks ago. It's true, they were looking for someone to fill this position since December. I was one candidate out of 6 others and was offered the position after 6 interviews spread over 5 months. They have terrific medical benefits, only two weeks of vacation and a lukewarm starting salary. There was no discussion of bonuses. I was very interested in this position for a long time but one thing that bothered me is that relocation is MANDATORY! Although first told that there would be minimal travel, other interviewers told me that some travel assignments could be as long as two months anywhere in the world and happened often. I was also told that hours are long and expected, and laptops are required so you could do work at home after sitting in an office with no windows for 10 to 14 hours a day. The offer was a lateral one monetarily even though I told them I expected a significant bump. I am currently a telecommuter with 5.5 weeks vacation. Why would I change jobs to commute 90 miles a day, for the same money and 3.5 less weeks vacation. When I wrote to express my disappointment, THEY REFUSED TO COUNTEROFFER, and were downright nasty about it! I think I made a very good decision.

Guys, when you see these they are phishing for an H1-B. If you are totally qualified then you end up being interviewed with the idea of being disqualified. I am not saying that CSC only hires H1B's but that is the practice, you will see a job posted for six months to a year and wonder why they didn't fill it?

This is the new America guys....

Good point RD in CT; I can relate!

I interviewed with CSC. After 7 interviews(in person & phone)
the last person I interviewed with was the VP, who decided
against hiring me because of relocation!

She "gleened" from the interview that I was not open to relocating.(not true!) Otherwise, I would have got the offer.

A recruiter contacted me thereafter, about a different role,
of which the same VP oversaw. They were not interested now.

How narrow minded.

But, glad I didn't get an offer, if that's how they treat job candidates! Gee, I wonder how employees are treated!

I would have accepted had they counteroffered. It's too bad that they would turn away someone they worked so hard to hire because of one stubborn individual. After all, for a company that large, what's an extra $10K??!!!

I bet he probably is worth it. Example: guy gets fired from CSC, client comes to me wanting me to take his job and said it was temporary for 30 days. Over the last 90 days, CSC hires 3 people and not one of them is taking over that position of the guy that got fired. Yes those people do the same thing I do and No they are not needed elsewhere. Result, I was already conducting 2x the work now it is 3x the work. No bump in pay, no incentive and loss of opportunity to take over as the IASO due to lack of people. CSC Result more money for the company and the true sign that they don't give a d%$# about them employees.

By the way, if I am doing 3x the work which is equal to 3 people, I should be making anywhere between 140K to 160K. Right. See how they just dump on you. What a cestpool

If it is on hold for funding, why waste our precious time and effort when looking for a job? Maybe if they stopped advertising for a position that doesn't exist they would have the funding for the position? Don't you think that is callous and irresponsible? Oh, the fiscal responsibility is astounding. I want to work for them!

I will tell you now I do not apply to jobs more than a week old. Secondly I certainly will not work for a company so irresponsible with their advertising dollars that keeps a job posted for months on end teasing people with mortgages, kids to feed, electric bills to be paid while they spend their money and twiddling their thumbs while collecting resumes from people who want legitimate work while they surf the net and gossip at the water cooler.

Unprofessional and amoral, so they will never get a really great and qualified graphic designer like me. And eventurally their firm will go down. That is not the way to run a business.

It is a scam in every respect of the word.

What kind of big brother corporate speak non-sense is this?

Hey man, that sounds like BS to me.

Now that I have left CSC 2 weeks ago. I wanted to make a comment on the management. It is horrible and from the looks of it, it doesn't matter where in the U.S it is across the board. In the three years that I have worked with them I have had 3 project managers and 2 site leads. As with any contracting company, management only cares about the money and not the employees. Last year the client hired a few contractors from other companies to work on CSC's project. DING DING DING! Should that have not been a red flag. Don't they know that takes away from CSC's positions. Management done nothing. Furthermore, no announcement in openings for project managers and site leads so there was no job growth. I liked how they tend to put non-productive people that didn't know what they were talking about in the site positions. I don't think they will have this contract too much longer! Matter of fact I was emailed by another company just last night for the same position I just left.

I forgot to mention. Alot of employees are leaving the project that management had the nerve to ask us if we would mind working an extra hour because the contract was lacking hours. Gee I wonder why! positions taken from CSC CSC won't hire anyone and when they do these people are already looking for another job, poor management and a poorly written contract. My advice stay away. For the ones that work with CSC, I did not hand in their management survey when I left but I should had. I didn't want to burn any bridges.

Greed! CSC went the way of greed. I remember when CSC first opened its doors and everyone wanted to work for them, what a great company with great employees. A lot of employees where I had worked (defense in LA) actually quit to join CSC, and they really made the money. But, greed came a knockin', the company started laying off so many of the good employees, or outsourced to India, that the employees remaining behind had to work long hours, less vacation, and no extra pay. So many quit, and still are quitting. As a company they have become pretty heartless, and mean. When this happens to a company its just a matter of time it will crash and burn, and this is what is happening now to CSC.(take a look at the stock) For those with skills and talent- stay away from this place, you can do better.
