What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable? How does Countrywide Financial stack up against the competition? |

I don't think, I know. There have been layoffs in the sub-prime division. 45 people in Texas and over thirty in Denver! There have been 3 layoffs since November! What does that tell you? They heard the people in to a conference room, with no prior notice and hand out the "paper work" and your checks. Very cold and calculating. Many demeaning comments made about those who were laid off to those who did not get laid off. For a company who has initiated the "Fish Philosopy", one wonders if it is all a facade and that what lies beneath are sharks!!! |

THE GAMES THEY PLAY!!!!! When they lay people off they should start with the people who are at the top and who created the mess. They try to blame it on the workers, but the managers make the decisions on how to run things. Then they replace everyone at a lower salary and start all over again. Yes, something is wrong with this picture. Mangement continues to get their raises, promotion, etc. and the people they manage have no job? |

You are right when you say that there have been layoff's in the subprime department but this is not just with Countrywide, this is with a large percentage of mortgage companies/brokers, etc. Countrywide is the big dog, so of course they are going to be picked on. Do your research before posting, and while you are at it, take a spelling class. |
