Internal loan officer

Recently interviewed for an inside loan officer position at one of their corporate offices here. This position would involve working the phones all the time, taking refi applications. It looks at this point like I have the job. Was told by the mgr who interviewed me that it would be tough, I'd be micromanaged, etc but that if I could handle it and just hang on, I could make pretty good $$. Is there anyone out there who has worked in this position who can back this up?? Money is important but I also want to be somewhere where I can stay for a long time and build a career, one where there will be opportunities for advancement along with some stability. Can anyone shed any light here? Any info would be appreciated...thx!!
