Countrywide has got to be one of the worst and most demoralzing companies a person can work for. In Tampa they use staffing companies to recruit for Loan Purchasers and Collateral Analysts. I don't know if I would classify these jobs as modern slavery or sweatshop work.

Is there anyone out there from Tampa who has worked at or is working at Countrywide who can relate?

Let me know.

Yes, Richard..I can relate. I was a loan purchaser a few months ago (evening shift) and realized that it definitely wasn't a thinking man's (or woman's) job.

I worked for this company back in '06 as a collateral analyst. At first, I thought I had it made, passing the background check and the weeklong training with an exam. But we were herded like cattle into cubicles and after a few days told that when needed (read: ordered), we had to submit to mandatory overtime. Say what?! I have no problem with OT as long as I can reasonably plan ahead for it, but I was working 10 hour days, 6 days a week. The head anal-yst would write the names of the ppl that didn't show or couldn't stay, and people were fired for it. Last I checked, sweatshops were illegal, but I also know that Cwide passed thru a loan that wasn't even signed which is ILLEGAL and the rep was told that she would be fired if she didn't comply. OSHA anyone?

Served as a slave for 15 months back in 2006 and 2007 and forced to go back now.
Times are very tough here in Tampa, couldn't make a living working off the Airport and not qualified to clean toilets.

Just have to go back there so that whatever is left of my soul would be destroyed.
