Do you work at Cox Communications? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview?

Any advice for someone trying to get in?

You have to apply online. You have several phone interviews. The interviewers are not professionals, and are asking questions off a sheet. You MIGHT get a phone call or and email, or you may not. ALWAYS check you online profile EVERYDAY! It might take a month or more to even get called in for a live interview. The interviewer might not know how to interview, and they may act arrogant, but they know what they want. Be professional, and confident, and if they like you, you will have to take a drug test and go through a background check. It's that simple. Only those with patience and professionalism will prevail.

Oh and another thing, there seems to be a certain isolated culture at COX, and you must want to become part of it, so you need to check your ego in at the door.

I had an assessment on 7/22 and received a missed call on 7/28 with no message and no way of returning their call. I applied for the Home Service Tech. Any ideas on what I should do?

I haven't been on here for awhile but I got the job. The interview was easy as they ask the standard questions like you experience, customer service, ect.

Don't expect Cox to be a company that really cares for its employees. They will let you go at the drop of a hat.

I worked for them for 6 years, they crap on all their employees. I was climbing the ladder quickly, then they re-structured the company and I was turned into a nobody overnight. Do your'e best to stay away from this company.

I still work there and when I say run? RUN! You will not like this job. You will hate your job. I give it 1 year, if that. I am being nice. And previously I worked for a company like Cox services and I LOVED that Job however they left Tucson. This experience made me want to work for COX.. I never hated a job so much in my life and I am not alone there. You can see it on their faces.. RUN!

well I applied for at least 10 jobs and got inhouse interviews for 2. I was totally qualified for the jobs. I've had all the cox services for at least 10 years and I've totally technology oriented and still didn't get either of the jobs interviewed for. I don't think thier looking for quality employees...... Not sure what their looking for but for the most part I have never been impressed with thier emploees. When the installed my phones they put bg holes in the garage ceiling and attached the phone jacks to the wall with double stick tape.... you know what happened to those. Nice crappy work. In the last year I have had them out for repairs at least 4 times and finally the last tech did the work right and was amazed the other 2 never went in the attic and all the equiptment up there was bad and in need of replacement. So I won't ne working there...................

Perhaps you didnt get the positions because of your spelling and verbiage ??? .. Also, Cox does contract work out, and Id imagine you had some lame contractor do your install.. I, unfortunatly, had that experience and the guy strung cable wires thruout my home without putting them in the walls or at least trying to hide them.. He strung one from the outside front of my home and thru the wall and the black wire was on the floor in front of my front door, if that makes sense in the way Im describing.. He kinda scooted it up to the moldings thingys and called it a day.. I go in one of my daughters rooms and he left the closet door open and when I closed it I saw why... There was 2 feet of cable laying there, not even coiled, and sheetrock debris from where he drilled into the common wall... LIVID I was.. still am as Im still talking about it 5 years later..... Feel your pain on the install, but no sympathy if you interview as bad as you spell and word things
