Like any job market it depends on the demand for your skills and your talent. If they want you bad enough, they'll hire you. Even if they have to wait a year to get your security clearance approved. If you are looking for just defense related work...try government contract work. Try a niche career site like clearancejobs.com. It focuses on jobs that require security clearance.
