It's always hard to know what to expect when going in for that interview -- and preparation can make all the difference. What is the interview process like at Dell? Any advice on striking the right note? |

The interview process at Dell involves a series of performance-based or behavioral questions such as, "tell me about a time when you had an angry customer. Describe the situation, the actions you took and the end result." The best manner to handle these questions is using the traditional STAR method: describe the situation, the task you needed, the action you took and the end result.

Hi Jennifer, my husband is in the interview process at Dell right now and he just went through an interview where they asked that exact question. Should he expect his future interivew to be very similar? We were hoping to relocate very soon and it's all relying on if he gets an offer or now. I guess we are like all potential employees playing the waiting game.

Last week I got an interview call from DELL for a Business Analyst position, and I am sorry to say they asked really vague questions. An interviewer named Nitin was way too vague asking questions like what is RUP? Now its a really broad question you need to specify: definition, phases, artifacts of each phase or how did you utilize this methodology in your project. Likewise how do you create workflow: You mean to ask how do i analyze a business problem, and put it in a diagram, or what tool do I use to create it, what kind of shapes I use to create this diagram? As a candidate you don't get an idea what kind of answer interviewer is looking for? You can't blame candidate for your weakness. |
