What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable?

How does Deloitte & Touche stack up against the competition?

Deloitte is No. 2 as of 2007 revenues. Deloitte and their 2008 growth is still double digits, but much slower than 2007. For example, The Houston office is losing its biggest client (Huntsman) in the Houston area to PWC.

As for everything, what goes up—must come down. The inevitable has become a reality; Deloitte is LAYING OFF as of 2008. The company has some good people there, but some rotten apples too. These rotten apples are petty, and will throw you under the buss, in order to survive staying on the payroll. Just hope that you get a good person (they are finite here) to work with who will take you under their wing.

There is also voluntarily turn-over too; perhaps due to a recent downturn in corporate culture, work-life-balance, and morale. The recent exodus of staff is at all levels of the company. In 2008 (the Houston office) four partners have left as of May-08, several managers, and numerous staff.
