Every business has its own style. What is the office environment and culture like at Designs Of The Interior (DOTI)? Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers? What is a typical day in the life of an employee at Designs Of The Interior (DOTI)? |

Every day this different. They are dressed in full shirts. The owner Karen Showner where's Dior shirts with matching heels and eyeglass ( not laying ). You have about 4 to 7 designer working there you each have what they call a up list so all of you know when it is you turn for the door. The one thing is maybe only 1 to 3 customer may walk so that means only 1 or 3 designer may really get a client that need designer help. The other 4 designers had Nothing to show for the day. This company has not yet been open for a year and they have go though a total of 28 designers. They are always getting a new designer every mouth and dismissing a designer who does not meet there sales goals, but they do not have any walk customers because they to much money. She take her cost and X by 3.5 to 5.5 because she needs the money to stay open and all of the designer CAN NOT KNOW IF YOU ARE ON BUDGET OR NOT WHIT YOUR OWN CLIENT due to she what's to get every cent from the customer . The owner and the manger both like to help with the design of your client then they like to design it for you then turn around and say well you really have no idea what you are doing so from know with are both going to help you with all of your clients. I WOULD NOT WORK FOR DOTI IN WOODLAND HILLS LOOK FOR A DIFFENT STORE TO WORK FOR . |

I AM SO GLAD I DIDN'T WORK FOR THIS COMPANY. Although, I came close. Read the Designs Of The Interior (DOTI) News and Gossip forum. I'm a great designer & won awards for it while I was at Thomasville, that's why the Im-A-Star even if its sounds conceited, & I don't need any help with my designs or price gouging. Is this company a home away from home for control freaks? After reading the forums, which I did not read and should have before I applied to work for them, I see why they have continual employment ads allover the internet. |

Absolutely, I will never work for Doti either. It was a complete waste my time and effort and degrading experience as far as design goes. |

At the location I worked at. If the owner was there the day might or might not be good. She could be very nice and then just turn into this other person. She'd hover and try to hear EVERYTHING and think she wasn't being obvious but she was. If she wasn't there, we felt it was like a little vacation, but she was on the phone 40 times and up the poor managers arse the whole time she was gone. Our manager would try just to ignore her. I hear they have made her stay away more often now. |
