mdennis951 in Milton, Florida said: I don't see Pat responding to anyone I think he/she got scared off. I was in Kuwait when KBR changed to DYNCORP and couldn't get on. I even had a friend recommend me and hand them my resume and still nothing. The problem is in Kuwait they have certain clicks that people fall into and if you're not in with the click then no positions are offered. It's not what yoou know but who you know (blow). It's especially hard being a female as they want something in return for helping you out. I worked for ITT and if you were part of the Masons then you were protected and could get any position if not there was nothing. I've been trying for 4 years to land something and even if there is a response there isn't a follow up just empty promises. Don't they know they are messing with people's emotions when they say they may have something for them and never call back. It's a cut throat industry.

WOW I am going throught it and thouhgt I had a click but they all turned, keep the faith I am.
it's good to help friends but other need help too!!!
At the end of the day that's it

....I'm not a recruiter but do have quit a bit of LOGCAP experience,
I would try changing up key words related to your career field on your resume and re-apply as positions post on the website, sometimes the application is getting skipped because there is not enough relevant words or info to bring it to attention during screening....I know it sounds dumb, but sometimes that's all it takes.

Hello,

I have been applying for DynCorp positions for a couple of years with NO HITS! I have a considerable amount of experience in Construction and Safety Quality Assurance Inspection (20+ years)with HAZMAT and Management capabilities. I hold a ICC certification in UBC as a Building Inspector and a USACE certification for Construction Quality Management and am familiar with most OSHA regulations related to Safety, HAZMAT, and Construction . I have most recently been a Facilities Engineering Inspector at the military bases in Kuwait and have LOGCAP experience in Iraq. If there are any DynCorp recruiters out there, PLEASE contact me for a more personal interview. Thank you!

rtrhd in Grand Forks, North Dakota said: My Personal DynCorp Hiring Procedure Timeline

6 months of submitting applications and tweaking my resume.

Day 1…..Received an email notice of selection for the position (Pilot, Rotary Wing).
Day 2…..Returned the email, accepting the position.
Day 4…..Received several emails, with a plethora of documents to complete and return to DynCorp. I was also was directed to several sites to complete pre-deployment medical and dental surveys, a lengthy (3 part, 185 question), hazardous mission assessment (psych eval), and a comprehensive background survey for the DynCorp Security Department. My status now indicates “Application Processing”.
Day 5…..Completed all documentation and surveys, and sent my passport & a copy of my Social Security Card to the Security Department via FedEx overnight. (I also ordered copies of my military and civil service shot records, for pre-deployment use.)
Day 7…..Received instructions for, and links to the e-Qip site (for the Secret Security Clearance). (The e-Qip site is an on-line SF-86.)
Day 8…..Completed the Secret Security Clearance forms on-line. Also, my passport was returned to me via FedEx. Included were fingerprint cards, instructions, and a return FedEx envelope. My Status now indicates “Application Processing – Documents Received”.
Day 9…..Had fingerprints taken, and returned them to DynCorp.
Day 12….Was requested to re-submit my SF-86 due to a processing error.
Day 13….Received notification that my Secret Clearance had been granted. I Negotiated a start date of July 5th, to report for processing and training. My status now indicates “Finalizing Application”.

Do you have any recruiters information? I've been applying for quite some time and have heard nothing but the thank you for applying...

Sadly Ms Austin, the only you are going to actually "find" a recruiter is to go to a recruiting event - to be able to speak with one that is. If you do by chance figure out a recruiters email and try to contact them - that is usually unproductive and the easiest way to not get a job.
I know it is frustrating, but that is how the game is played.

I am not sure if this will help but I notice the jobs I had applied for were on my list of applied for job status.
Look at the title and see if it says something like apply to dyn international so I cliked it and when through the same process I did when I thought I had applied then about 10 minutes later I got a bunch of confirmation that they were reviewing it was an autoreply but I know now they got them.
So go back and read them to see what the status is I was supposed it might be a test for attention to detail
And of course try to use words that are in the SOW, I have revamp my entire resume.
Good luck

Yes, see this almost every time. I usually had to click on the link that says complete your app.. let it load, then hit the submit button. Then is showed "edit your completed app".. that's normal.

Hi Geekgirl! Congrats on the getting a call. Can I ask you, how long had you been applying before you got this call? I started applying back in Jan and even went to a recruiting event. I was told at the recruiting event that I would DEFINATELY be called! Well, that was in April.... cricket. cricket.

LOL...I know right! Um...I started seriously applying in May/June (Fluor, ITT, Sallyport, ect.) This is after I met recruiters at actual hiring events over a year ago and all those previous applications were rejected/denied. So the hiring events didn't work for me either.

Believe it or not the day I started pulling my applications off-line is the same day I heard from Dyncorp, I kid you not! So I would say it took 2-3 months before I got a response.

I think it helps too if you upate your resume, like change a few things to keep it new/fresh in the system. Thanks and GL!

I see a lot of traffic in regards to a dyncorp recruiter and i believe it's for jobs in Afghan and Iraq. I know of one but not sure if she if affiliated with those programs but you can give it a try. Her answering machine usually answers her calls but shoot her an email...good luck...I'm in waiting myself. Finally does anyone know of the companies for the Aircraft maintenance transient alert positions in Europe and Middle East? Thanks in advance...feel free to email me at hmyoungjr@yahoo.com I'm eagerly trying to get back to work...

I keep hearing "be patient" but, this is something I am really excited about. Any advice?

FAARP= "Forward Arming and Refuling Point" and there is basically no plumbing done of any kind. Fuel is dispensed (hopefully by trained refuelers) from Trucks, or Blivets to Aircraft, either closed port hi-pressure, or open port hot or cold.

I can answer this obe VERY accurately. I was across the way from the DynCorp CNTPO guys. There were other Mechanic/Logistic types scattered around, but we Aircrew were generally in the same "SHU" (Single housing Unit). These are basically SEALAND containers all bolted to each other, 8 ft wide, 20 feet deep. The "Chair Force" runs housing on the ISAF compound. They are all 2 to a SHU and were tripling up when I left. Not pretty at all. Water for the sinks/showers is obtained from God only knows where. Its brackish, Salty, and UNdrinkable. ISAF compound is split into three areas; NATO troops area(30+ Countries there)USAF area, and then Command/ISA HQ and the Airfield HQ area. 2 Large KBR Messhalls that are equally bland/unremarkable. A few perversely overpriced Restaurants, some blatant rip offs (Turkish Cafe). A Haji Market for souvenirs and patches and custom sewing (kinda cool area, but the Vendors are all smart asses who are working for the Taliban)They laid the foundation for 6 new large "Barracks" (Read: Stacked Sealand containers) and they are supposed to be done mid November. I worked on the ANAF side of KAIA, and had to negotiate that rutted/open to ambush ring road twice a day in a 12 yr old Toyota Minivan, UNarmed. Was a trip. I flew in Combat there in 09 in Kandahar, and its actually BETTER being out at some of the FOB's and Fwd Airfields at times that at ISAF HQ. But, we are chasing the almighty dollar, so we do what we do.

I'm a good bit farther along in the process than you are, but am still in the dark. (I'm going over as a Mi017 Instructor Pilot BTW, I dont know your job or status)I recv'd the "Congrats you are hired" email from my Recruiter, where he said I was passed thru HR and Background/Security checks, and that the next mails should be from my deployment co-ordinator. But Everytime I write to see whats up(every 7 days) I keep getting the "They have a housing and CAC card/Country Visa backlog at ISAF, we will get you over as soon as we can" . I have been turning down other, just as lucrative jobs AND am being contacted every 3 days by OTHER DynCorp Rotary Wing project managers that want me for other missions, yet I'm hesitant to be taken off a known actice select list for "what if". (It took me a full year to get this far!) So I'm waiting...for now. if I do not have a firm deploy date in hand in 15 days or less, I'm pulling iut and taking another gig. (Hear that DynCorp types??)

I'd like to add here, that after calling in some favors from guys I know on the inside, I was contacted by a VP of Rotary Wing ops (Ms Stoddard) and she called me personally, and read directly line by line from DynCorps internal HR screen where I was listed as "on the rolls" as a new hire as of 30 September (Its Oct 18 today)But, I'm still waiting and waitin and waiting. For All you guys trying to get on with them, you have to send your Resume's literally dozens of times until finally they call you. No other way to put it. Even then, it moves at a glacial pace. Good luck one and all, and if anyone on here is on the HR side of DynCorp, ya'll need to fix some things...waiting months and months like this is simply ludicrous, and you lose other highly talented people to competitors by doing business this way. Just sayin'...

Yea...I figured the living environment wasnt gonna be pleasent. I have friends with Dyncorp but they are either in Kanadahar, Kuwait or Iraq. They all say its better in Kandahar but beggers cant be choosey I guess. I also have the problem of other recruiters calling me for other positions and at this point I keep telling them "First come first serve" whomever gets me to work quicker...I'm theirs. I keep turning down other jobs here in the states and its just killing me. I've been unemployed for a few years and sure would like to get to work. I've also applied with Fluor and IAP but havent heard back from them. It really sucks because I want to get over their and get to work before Obahma pulls the plug on overseas spending.

Pat in Universal City, Texas said: I am a Dyncorp Recruiter. What questions do you have and what is your skill set

I recently stumbled across this site while trying to find a way to contact anyone at Dyn-Corp. I have left countless phone messages, filled out the on line stuff, etc. I can't get a return message of any kind.

"Pat in Universal City, Texas", if you are still paying attention to this forum would you or someone PLEASE tell me how I may get in touch with a live body? I spent 18 months at LSA Anaconda, Iraq, doing work for KBR and I really would like to go to Afghanistan to do the same. The job in which I am interested has been posted and filled several times over the past few months. I suspect that the people who went there couldn't handle the conditions and de-mobilized ASAP. I CAN! I proved that with KBR since I lasted longer than anyone other than the TCNs!

I will see if this works. If I don't get some kind of response in a short while I guess I will need to contact Steven Gaffney or Chris Davis office to see if I can get things to roll down hill. I can be reached via email at Telescopes@usa.net.

Thanks,

Steve Forbes

Very interesting comments over the last 6 months! I was in Iraq, then spent the last year in Afghanistan, but I have the bug after being home for 6 months, not so much to be herded and sequestered in FOB's etc...But I'm sure some can agree, it's like a drug!! I have the itch again. I came home to a good job (luckily) but I started looking 2 months before I made the decision to demob after 2 years, but I'm restless!! I need any info you guys or gals have on ITT in Qatar, I was contacted recently by the recruiter, then the in country manager, but would like some inside info before I take it further, so far it's just been emails,It's for a supervisory position but I'm sure the pay is less, any idea on the living conditions, R&R's, where and how you deploy from the states? I think this could be a fun deployment, with the ability to roam the cities and towns, and take in the culture. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. I have been on and off since 2007, and the bug may be back!!

I applied in the 2nd week of October and I am scheduled to leave the 2nd week of November. For the rest of you, if you are not being contacted, take a close look at your resume, again, take a look at your Resume, obviously if you are called by a recruiter they already see something in you they need. I was called two hours after I completed the online application. If anyone in the Security field is looking to get on feel free to email me at jason.kelley17@gmail.com and I will try and work with you with the time I have left before I deploy. I was able to get a colleague of mine on after helping him with his resume as well, he will potentially be leaving about 3 weeks after I am. Again, your Resume will do the trick and Security job hunters hit me up.

Salty it has been a few years since I was in qatar so i'm not sure how much has changed but the salaries are low and the cost of living is high unless you live in company supplied housing and meal allowance. You can find almost anything you like there.Traffic is very bad. extrmely bad drivers and terrible sand storms. But I enjoyed bsing there. All the big hotels have bars For the most part the native qataris are friendly

Hello All! I've been applying with Dyncorp for about 8 months now. I'm applying for construction and/or Facility Management. I received a call back from recruiter Warner about a Site Manager position and thought I had it but receved an email 45 days later stating I did not. Then I get a call from a recruiter Robert Hall telling me he is subbmitting me for a Facility Management Coordinator position. That was a month ago and still no word. My profile page states "Application Under Consideration" for this position. Is it normal to take so long? Also, any assistance would be greatful. This process is taking way too long.

First I wouldn't use the names of the recruiters that you're working with. May not work in your favor...just saying.

Yes, it's a slow process but overall it's way faster than FLUOR/ITT.

Yes, it's a slow process but overall it's way faster than FLUOR/ITT.

Yea...I realized that once I posted it and read it. I tried to delete it but it was too late. Thanks for the advice.

I've learned by going thru the process with DI no news is good news! Once you start the process, they usually don't say much unless you're missing paperwork or trhey need additional stuff from you. However, it pays to send them an email or two just to keep your presence known and to let them know you're still serious about the position.

Pretty soon you will be hearing from a HR person instead of your recruiter. When I wouldn't hear from my HR rep I'd drop a friendly email and say something like, I'm just sending this message to verifiy that you received XYZ...do you need anything else?

I can only imagine how many candidates each HR rep is handling.

Problems arise when the Dyncorp recruiter is lazy as HELL (like mine) and you hae to literally pounce up and down on his desk for dayson end to get results. They all move at a glacial pace...a miracle ANYthing gets done at all.
