i signed offer leter at september, and after that i got email: Your file is completed and submitted to travel department today. In approximately four to six weeks you should be leaving home country and in the meantime, a travel representative will contact you and inform about travel arrangements. Please check your email on a daily basis because you should receive LOA - letter of authorization that you'll have to bring with you. still waiting to leave country, what can be so long to take it??? |

I applied for a bus driver position in Afghan. I have 3 years of driving experience with a CDL B with PS Endorsement |

I suspect that he's not a recruiter at all. I've tried getting in touch with him via this forum and I've heard nothing. I've tried calling and writing and using the web site and I cannot get any results. I'm wondering if it's all just a big bunch of baloney. Steve |

I went online for the first time to look at Administrative/Supply positions. I decided to read what people are saying good/bad about the company. I heard that you could be hired for a yr, get in country and that could change. if they move you, it is up to you to foot the bill. Is this true? |

I have been TRYING to get a position with these people for months. They finally got to my request after about six months! Next, they wanted ME to jump through hoops and spend a lot of money to get a passport (my original was lost when I moved) plus FAXing stuff, copy stuff, medical BS, etc., etc., ETC.! THEY, on the other hand, have been extremely slow to respond and NEVER return phone calls! Now, a small medical issue, which was no problem for KBR to handle, has brought things to a total stand still! All of a sudden, NO ONE can be reached nor will they return calls or even answer an email! How the heck this company got the LOGCAP IV contract is way beyond me! By any comparison whatsoever, KBR was a model organization and THEY were a den of theives and dingbats! So, in short, you MAY get a call, you WILL spend money that you cannot afford and if you are lucky you MAY get a job. More likely, you will be left out in the middle of the woods with no compass and no resources. I think my next step will be to begin contacting members of the Board of Directors and start seeing what can be pushed down hill because trying to gain ground by going up hill certainly isn't working. |

Spend money, jump through hoops, then sit on it, is the way they seem to run this railroad. |

I've been watching this discussion for over a year and am having worked in Afghanistan with another company I am amazed at the number of people who whine and complain about DynCorp. They are renowned for be crap at looking after their people, so to think you will be treated any different is dreaming. If your willing to put up with all their BS, great - all the best and good luck with anything you get with them, if not stop whining and go find another company. |

I AM trying to locate companies other than Dyn-Corp and KBR. If you have other companies or leads of any kind, of which you are aware, please, share that information with us. We would all sincerely appreciate it. |

I've jumped through the hoops, filled out forms, provided all kinds of medical extras, etc. Now, after scanning the web site, I hve found that they've filled all of the positions for which I have applied. Did I even get a courtesy call or email? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! From what I can tell this company is not well run, has horrible manners, horrible recruiters and no honor at all. I suggest that it would be a better choice to find some other company and avoid these people. Just how in the Hell they even got the LOCAP IV contract is well beyond me! If anyone finds another company that has something to offer, by all means, PLEASE, share that information with the rest of us!!!! |

Do you have Hazmat and Endorsement license? |
|
Dissappointed-STILL in Austin, Texas 1 month ago |
No. I have no commecial licenses of any kind. I do have a decent background with mechanics, machinery and construction. I am amazed that a CDL and such stuff is even a consideration over there! For drying out loud, Afghanistan is a country that is lower than an Iraqi toilet and has virtually no traffic laws so those requirements are, in my opinion, useless. Thanks |
|
Ms Austin in Austin, Texas 1 month ago |
The reason I asked about the license is for working in the Oil Fields, in Texas that is. They are booming right now, but you need those type of license. My husband and I have applied for a year straight and we didn't get the response you got, but now his job in the oil field will probably pay him comprable to or more than what he could have made in Afghanistan, plus I like him being home and in a more safe environment. Good Luck to you! |
|
Dissappointed-STILL in Austin, Texas 1 month ago |
I am very happy to hear that your husband has found a GOOD job that will pay well. With the current crowd in DC trying to make such things NOT happen makes it even more ecouraging. Congratulations indeed. For me, I have to admit that I miss being where there is more action. I thoroughly enjoyed my time (18 months!) while in Iraq. I wish that I was still there, but, that party has ended. The money for such adventures is also well appreciated and would be a major blessing at this point in my life. I guess I will have to keep looking for a company that is serious and wants people like me. |
