Every business has its own style. What is the office environment and culture like at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center?

Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers?

What is a typical day in the life of an employee at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center?

LDS all the way. some one has already posted about the LDS Politics. From the head of radiology down - it's church.

If you are not a member of the mormon church, though in general they say it's okay? No, it's not.

The only "other" way to retain a job there, of course, is if you're a local.

At Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, uniquely different people seek our care every day. Different generations. Different religions. Different races. Different cultural backgrounds. Different family structures. Different health issues.

Therefore, at 1,400 strong, EIRMC’s own workforce also reflects that diversity.

It would be a mistake to imply that we as a hospital are characterized by a single religion or ideology.

In answer to your actual question.

We are very proud of our culture! It is based around our “I am EIRMC” values, found at eirmc.com/about/culture-values.dot. These employee created values are everything we treasure in ourselves and our co-workers.
Pretty much…play nice!!!

We have a business casual dress code. Sorry no completely casual Friday.

And if you are looking for a friendly, great place to work. This is it. The atmosphere here is open, collaborative and welcoming. You will be hard pressed to find someone who doesn’t smile or say hi in the hall. A lot of our employees socialize after work and on the weekends. We are very active in the community and so your presence at events, dinners or fundraisers is always welcome.

If you have any more questions feel free to call our Human Resources

that's fine and well, but you obviously are not, and have not been a tech there. apparently, you're a person who works in H.R., who has absolutely no clue as to the work environment in U/S.

So what if you're loud and proud of your administrative environment? The answer has not been given about the 30 year medical facility - and the absolute lack of ultrasound techs tenure.

2 years, she was a great tech - and the management still couldn't retain them.

the u/s dept. is Mormon run, from the head rad, down.

We techs were made to stand outside of the office waiting for this particular head radiologist to "grant us" to come in and discuss our cases. Sometimes, we would stand outside his office for over 15-20 mins. while the patient was on the table. But he would allow the physicians to walk in and have casual conversations at anytime.

The E.R.? The techs would be called in all night - and still expected to stand a 10-12 hour shift, with a smile.

Management was only worried about productivity - not the techs well-being. But this is something you've probably never heard of before, why? when you clock out, you don't have to worry about seeing patients. Neither do you give a fig about your techs. Thank goodness for the internet.. Because now that the cat's out of the bag. You'll cover that well-fed behind of yours - and look into this matter.

and different races?

i beg to differ. As far as i know there's only ONE, count them ONE african american there. He was a transporter.

I have no idea where you've gotten the "Different Races".. i guess ONE african american in a hospital of over a thousand makes EIRMC culturally diverse?
