that's fine and well, but you obviously are not, and have not been a tech there. apparently, you're a person who works in H.R., who has absolutely no clue as to the work environment in U/S.
So what if you're loud and proud of your administrative environment? The answer has not been given about the 30 year medical facility - and the absolute lack of ultrasound techs tenure.
2 years, she was a great tech - and the management still couldn't retain them.
the u/s dept. is Mormon run, from the head rad, down.
We techs were made to stand outside of the office waiting for this particular head radiologist to "grant us" to come in and discuss our cases. Sometimes, we would stand outside his office for over 15-20 mins. while the patient was on the table. But he would allow the physicians to walk in and have casual conversations at anytime.
The E.R.? The techs would be called in all night - and still expected to stand a 10-12 hour shift, with a smile.
Management was only worried about productivity - not the techs well-being. But this is something you've probably never heard of before, why? when you clock out, you don't have to worry about seeing patients. Neither do you give a fig about your techs. Thank goodness for the internet.. Because now that the cat's out of the bag. You'll cover that well-fed behind of yours - and look into this matter.
