Host said: Every business has its own style. What is the office environment and culture like at Embry-riddle?
Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers?
What is a typical day in the life of an employee at Embry-riddle?
The ERAU Daytona Beach campus is a mix of business casual/business professional. Faculty tend to be on the more respectable/formal side whereas some administrative staff (particularly those that you rarely see) tend to be a little more on the casual side. ERAU-DB is a traditional 4-year academic institution, so the culture will be more laid back and more focused on the on-campus student experience.
ERAU-WorldWide headquarters is also located in Daytona Beach. They are more corporate, so people tend to be more business professional there. ERAU-WW caters to military personnel and adult learners all over the world, so they tend to be more business oriented and militaristic.
The overall culture is that it is more discipline-centric than traditional institutions of higher education. They emphasize a core value system that is comparable to the armed forces. This culture trickles into the employee life as well. Everyone who holds positions at this institution are an essential function to the operation of the university. There are some employees who have worked at ERAU for a LONG time (15+ years) and they will have assimilated a lot of the "office politics" into their daily activities.
