There is no reason that you should have to pay anyone to find you a job. The moment they ask you for a fee, run fast in the opposite direction!

Yes, NEVER pay a firm to find you a job. There are plenty of companies that would be happy to help you for free (the company I work for being one of them :). I hope you didn't give them any cash.

Contact the consumer and labor growth and file a complaint. I am going to. These are desperate times and people might pay and we don't want anyone to lose their money. The more complaints that are filed, the more likely something might be done about it.

I'm working now thanks in large part to a company that I paid a fee to - Employment 1. My fee was well spent. I used the service AFTER trying on my own for months after I was laid off. The ladies at the office were great and I had many different options to apply to. It took about 5 weeks and I was hired. My unemployment was ready to run out and I had some options on my own but the wages were crap. I have friends that have tried various online resume and work from home services-- DON'T DO THOSE!! I would never pay any money on line for a job and would want to be sure about who I give my hard earned money to. I did check out the company and they checked out and no I get a pay check.
