Do you work at Epic Systems? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview?

Any advice for someone trying to get in?

It seems to me that you had best be young and inexperienced. HRs focus with me was not at all on work experience. They want your high school GPA and college grades and will tell you anything to get them. They won't bend.
The cutest is being told that you are the first to balk at sharing this private information in all their history and that every other company does it.
As this is possibly their first job in HR they may be overreaching on this but they are very sincere and persistent .
This round-eyed innocent attestation to "fact" may work well on 20-somethings eager for that first job anywhere.
They are RIGID in requiring grades and courses and this smacks of a youthful intelligence lacking the tempered wisdom of experience or possibly even intolerance for diverse backgrounds and learning methods.
They seem to lack flexibility and insight in hiring acumen.
These are only my opinions, of course. I walked away rather than have them invade my privacy.
If you don't care about yours this may be a great fit as you'll have job and I hear that it can be a fun place to work with a great many unusual perks and interesting people.

They are looking for people who have "academic excellence." Doesn't matter what it is in, just as long as you had good grades. Could be in pottery for all I know. I know of someone who was hired there with a major in art.

I would get 2 to 4 emails from an Epic recruiter saying to apply because of my experience. Didn't matter though because with working one and sometimes 2 full time jobs while I was going to school, I didn't meet their 3 point or above on a 4 point scale requirements.

Usually within ina week, I was sent a rejection. I do believe it is a good company though and if they would take me, I would jump at the chance.
