What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable?

How does Equity Residential stack up against the competition?

I think that until they start paying at least $13.00 per hour for a leasing consultant and if they dont start to hire more white male's 35 and over in age then this company is sure to have more layoffs sel off

I agree. These posters need a basic course in English 101. I have no clue what they are trying to say. I am assuming that these posters are referring to laundry and other domestic jobs and not the Asst Property Manager position. Some people just want to see their posts in print.

I am hoping that this is a career position with a starting salary of at least $40,000.00.

I dont know if I am missing something or what, but this is one hell of a company to work for, I love it. They have great benefits even for part time associates. Obviously if you dont do what the job description entitles, then you wont be successful, or liked.

I worked for Equity for more than a year and found the corporate offices allow hostile work environment conditions here in Washington State. Dishonesty and unethical practices abound in the Condo sales division. There is a very high turnover rate too.

Equity is a good company to work for as long as you are willing to work in very stressfull and a work enviroment where goal are set for the maintenance staff that can only really be met if the property was less then 5 to 10 years old. After a property goes bewond that and hits the 20+ mark, then thats when real problems happen. Oh and dont expect the company to really do anything about any of the mager issues eather. I can go on and on. dont think so tho. It really takes someone to work for this company to see all the issues that accure that never get taken care of, or they are just put on the back burner. ie i remember one issue that would have costed the property/company around 100,000 dollors to fix and so far still to this day after 10 years of knowing about the issue has not been fixed. i guess it would take someone being heart or killed befor anything is done. Sad the company is susposed to be the #1 property management company in the good ol USA. Id hate to see what #2 clames. And Now the ramble is over. hehe
