Yeah and I read all u guys were saying and I really didnt believe it but y'all were telling the truth..its only by seniority..not how hard you work..so that has told me just do the bare minimum enough to just get by and you're all set...well thats not how I work even though its what they seem to want...so yeah I'm gonna keep my eyes open in case something better appears where they appreciate hard work a tad bit more... |

I feel just terrible for Kelizabeth. It is a shame to treat employees this way and not necessary at all. I said this many times,it could be a great job. Frito is begging for a union the way they treat people. In any event I feel terrible for you. Does anyone know if the other chip companies are obnoxious like this,Wise,Herrs? Do they all treat employees like crap? Again I am so sorry Kelizabeth. |

Do you know how miserable I felt the day we had to change everything over? The day I had to take all the stuff out of my truck? The day I got to watch everyone else find out which truck they were gonna be in and got their new handhelds, route numbers and crap? Did one of them even look at me ans say they knew what I was going through and was sorry? Hell no..all I am being told is hang in there it will get better..when? Do they know how it feels to hope everyday someone will quit, get fired, die, or retire??? I did not sign up to be a freakin merchandiser and I absolutely hate it..hopefully ti will get a tad better when these merchandisers get trained and I wont have to do it anymore..but I have a brand new car I do not wish to overload with all these miles...I cannot afford the gas of 100 miles a freakin day..sure they reimburse u mileage but its half the miles i have to drive and who knows when they give u the check..I hate the freaking bitterness I am feeling I used to love the job and the company but as for now they both are making me cry every stinking day...lol..and yes I am job looking... |

I feel just awful for you believe me. Its a disturbing thing they do to employees,I know my cousin worked there for a year. Why does a GIANT Corp. like Frito only pay HALF your miles you put on your car doing THEIR business? |

persuazion in Texas said: Die?? I think you went a little to far there......its only a job. If you read how I was listing the word die? It was not listed as I was gonna kill myself..it was listed as ways a route would open up..no it is not how I want to get a route...but no one quits there and no one ever gets fired...and it was kinda an attempt at humor cause I need that now ok???? And to kind of express that i kinda feel like a vulture sitting here waiting for something to happen to someone else so i can get their route...its kind of a disturbing feeling and I do not like it...but lighten up I'm not plotting to kill anyone..... |

I'm out. I gave my notice today. The people I worked with were fine. I got along with all of them. Sales numbers were just numbers picked out of the air half the time....so that part was unreasonable. I think they treated me fairly. But as other posters have noted....you have no life at Frito Lay. Forget ever getting a full weekend off. Even when you're on vacation. Wednesdays , Sundays or Wednesday, Thursdays are your typical days off unless you have ten years with the company. And in that case you might get one weekend day off. If you are making decent money, you have no time to enjoy it. And enjoying life is kinda important to me. |

They don't pay for the gas to your first store from your house and back from your last store to ur house...it falls under commutting to and from work which was about 50 mils a day for me anyway but since I loved my job i didnt mind the commute...but now its double the mileage and expense for a job im not fond of...but the thing thats getting me by kind of is that this merchandising things is temporary...two to three weeks....I am hoping for betterness after... |

Someone give me the full low down on Cintas SSR job? I applied once but am thinking of applying again? What is the full story on this job? I like the 4 day work and predictable schedule, meaning your not on call 24-7. Its a set schedule right? Thanks if any one can tell shed some light on these subjects. |

Ok sooo 1 week and 1 day of doing nothing but merchandising....shall we say...ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ,,,omg! It is a totally boring rotten stinking lousy tiring awful job...not to mention I HATE it!!!! I can't help but feel this is a stinking jail sentance..maybe they need to have prisoners do this job? Bet they would stay out of jails...one day short of two weeks to go then the poor people that actually want to do this job will take over. Now for those of you who would like the benefits of working at frito lay and work 40 hours a week and not work hard? I will sum it up in one word..MERCHANDISER!!! You wont get weekends off with ur family but u will be off every sunday...Sunday and Tues...really makes u motivate on Mondays...<snore>, May 22nd and I am so done with this "assignment" I don't care what they throw at me after this life in hell it has GOT to be better!!!!!! |

kelizabeth I am an Rsa who quit my route to make more money.. but i have been covering merchandiser vacation for 2 weeks... talk about an easy life.... i drive 40 miles each way to work and don' get paid for it... thats just home mileage works... with most vendor companies... but i worked in 5 days 30 hours and i got paid a 150 for each day i worked... per usuall ... merchandising is easy get in get out and get done. it all sux and i took a 20 large pay pay cut but hey at least we still have jobs.... but don't worry it won't get better u will jsut get more used to the corparate CoXK in the Bum |

Kelizbeth in Buchanan, Virginia said: awesome screen name :-) dammit I typed a whole long thing and thats all that popped up...lol. Anyway yeah I know merchandising is easy..its way too easy..120+ miles a day on my car though sucks when i am getting paid for 54. The pay is great for what I am doing..but it is totally without a doubt the most boring job i have ever had to do.. In my opinion they dont need second pulls during the week at walmart and Kroger..they are overpaying these merchandisers..I have stretched my days to 8 hours a day but I am a girl I can kill time shopping, getting oil, changed in my car, taking car to the car spa, and tomorrow i get to go to Dr for DOT physical renewal...lol. One week to go and merchandisers will be back from training..I know this has to take 3 weeks to train for its a difficult job..ha! I am looking forward to my next "assignment" and am praying its a little more difficult..I like to work hard, be challenged, etc..this job isnt for me, but if ya'll want the benefits of working for frito lay and there are many and an easy 30 to 40 hour a week job..the word is Merchandiser..Yup I am glad we still have jobs, and I hope it gets better for you too and I really do absolutely love your screen name...hahaha!!! |

I am now an RSA,,Route Sales Ass(ociate)...lol. I am doing something different every week. no one has..quit, got fired, etc..etc..I do not have my own route r9ight now they are using me to cover the vacations for the Superbulk drivers..some how they all wound up taking their vacations back to back. I like I get to run the bulk routes still because they are my favorite..what I dont like is I am running all this product..last week I worked 69 hours..memorial day, 1st of the month etc...and my commission for all that work was a big fat nuthin..that part sucks big time,,, I am still trying to hang in there and telling myself its gonna get better...but until I get a route of my own...this all sucks...How's ur job search going??? |

Hi, I have been soooooo busy lately. This heat is draining the life out of me, so I just come home and sleep! Kelizbeth, how are you doing? Keep up with Cintas on getting hired as a RSR. |
|
Metallica1 in Keyport, New Jersey 23 months ago |
Yeah I'm going to keep applying to Cintas until they give me an interview/until I'm hired. I want that work schedule. |

collinsdll1 in Dallas, Texas said: I know what you mean, I don't think I could EVER work a 5 day again! Hi Collins. I've been reading your posts. I, too, am in the metroplex. Have 7 1/2 years in at Frito, and am tired of 65-70 hour work weeks. You sing a lot of praises for Cintas so I checked their posted openings. There's a sales rep facility in Dallas and a sales rep uniform in Fort Worth. These call for prospecting, cold calling, sales presentations, etc. How do these positions compare with yours? Also 4 day work week and same income, or different? How comparable are your benefits to those offered by Frito Lay? Are all positions available posted online or should I call the offices to inquire? I've missed the first 5 1/2 years of my son's life and don't want to miss any more. I'm about to go out for knee replacement so I have some time for the application process. What do you think? |
|
collinsdll1 in Dallas, Texas 23 months ago |
I know the dallas area is looking for SSR, its a whole different world then Frito. I would do it again in a heartbeat! The income is a tad smaller to start, but you build your route up, and it's the same. Yesterday I took home $800 for one week. Stay on the uniform side if you can, easier money! I have Sat-Sun-Mon off, plus every holiday off. There is a guy on here that applied, and is now working for Cintas in Houston. He left Frito to.
|
|
Alan Parker in Arlington, Texas 23 months ago |
So SSR is what you are? Is that the same as the Sales Rep position posted, because it said nothing about running a route in the job description. I would give up two knees for a four day work week. Oh wait, I did...lol! I've run Mega swing, then Mega lead, then UDS Prepick for the last 5 1/2 years.
Can you only apply for the positions posted online, or do you have a contact name, number, or location. If you get referral bonuses, I certainly would like for you to get credit. parker7621@sbcglobal.net if you have info that you would prefer not to post. Thanks for your quick response and help. |

That's funny Collins cause I talked to someone from Cintas HR and they said after 6 months you get 2 weeks vaca. and on your 5 year anniversary you go up to 3 weeks vaca. Whatever it is,is fine with me. I just want the work schedule, that is enough for me. Weekends off and 3 days off is INSANE! |

Hey any advice if Cintas calls Monday? I heard they ask some questions like "How much money do you need to make"? and Where do you see yourself in 5 years? |
|

Just be honest. What do you want to acomplish with your life.

Ok thanks. I really, really need this and I really, really need this. I'm hoping for a phone call tomorrow. I applied late Fri. so I hope tomorrow. There were 2 jobs up so I just applied to both. I will work my @ss off to learn this job inside and out if hired.I want it that bad. Thanks for the advice,I hope to join you in your company from the other side of the country soon. Oh hey how long is training? Do I go out with a SSR for a month or something? Do I have classroom work only then send me out? Is it a combo? Thanks again. |

DadMike, you are so wrong. Yes they pay well, But... Work accordingly 'should' not mean give up your life. Give up your family, never have a weekend off, work all holidays, and then wondering when the next route revision is coming. And then you start all over again. Its kinda like how a cat can chase his tail for hours, trying to catch it, and never does. Thats your career at Frito. |

Yessum the sure do pay well..and great benefits...but...how many hours a week do u work at ur Masters degree job? If after doing that job for two years or more can someone whos not been working as hard as you come in and take your job you love from under you because of seniority? Do you know what time you are to report at work everyday and approximately what time you will be home? Do you know where you are to report to work everyday? Cause at this present time I dont know where I am going to be from one day to the next and have to keep calling and asking if anyone knows....lol. And do u know which days off you are going to be getting each week??? The grass is not always greener insomeone elses backyard...think about it................... |

Its kinda like how a cat can chase his tail for hours, trying to catch it, and never does. Thats your career at Frito. The conditions do sound nasty...I worked restaurants for years to put self through school; 12 hours days until 4am, grease, dirt, rotten meat; cut or burn yourself- tough it out or don't come back!; health benefits were band-aids and burn spray; hours would always vary; pay was about 6-8 bucks an hour, depending on the place; nowadays unless you're fully unionized (sometimes helps) or just lucky, most employers treat you like garbage.....at least the pay sounds good! But, you're right, grass is always greener..... |
