In situations like that you DO NOT put the company first! You simply grow a pair and tell them no I just lost my wife and I am not ready to go back to work they cannot fire you. And about believing me personally I don't lose a minutes sleep if you do or don't and if u want me to stfu..stop posting to me already!!! Its been over a month since I took this off my email and 90 percent of these posts since then include my name. Get over it and leave me out of ur childish anger towards a company u do not even work for!

just like this post -- you are calling that guy a liar (I find that really odd)-- that is not believing what they are saying--so that means they are lying --- you dont mind attacking people but if they u then theres a problem--- amd you are losing sleep cuz you wouldnt be talkin lawyer stuff if not-- now that said i am not on you but i will bring up what i want and if u disagree cool

Everyone has different experiences with every job out there./ood days bad days good posts bad posts... My bad posts were two years ago..I now like where my job is why does that upset you so much? Captain Kangaroo hasn't posted here in a long time and neither have a lot of people..you are writing 90 percent of the posts here and 85 percent of those posts include my name. And you wonder why no one else has positive thing to say about frito? Its because they don't want you posting every other post on here about them too. If no one agrees with your opinion they are a liar. I am done posting here because I am sick of ur freakin slander. Now I just wish you would leave me the hell out of your posts! Erik Kauffman in Creston, Ohio said: No, they're hearing from me, I couldn't give a crap about the bridge.
All they had to do was look at the VERY FIRST online application I ever did to know that I maybe was not as qualified as they'd want for this job. But no, they ran me all over for tests, and interviews, and took a whole day of my time to go ride with one of the drivers, then they decide I'm not good enough?? But what really aggravated me was their incompetence in the interviews. When I ask 4 guys the EXACT same question, and 3 of them give me a different answer, then that tells me they don't know what they're talking about and that they just just make shi* up so they have something to say. Like I said, they even gave me different amounts for what they job paid. When I did the route ride I talked to the guys in Wooster who do these routes and they told me what their commission is. The guys in this interview gave me completely different numbers, once again telling me crap that wasn't right.
Sorry, but incompetence like that needs to be called out and that's exactly what I'm going to do. They probably do this all the time and noone says anything to them. Not me, I don't operate that way.

Sounds like frito -- they only give asht about themselves. They get a free days labor and dont offer sht-- Cintas pays you for the route ride but of course the cheap bastds at frito dont.

Ok so I have apologized to you. I am overly sensitive about stuff right now because I have a son in Afghanistan our service men and women are getting killed there everyday and this stresses me out. Then I come on here for something to do while skyping with him and find you are STILL digging up my posts and tearing them apart..why??? I did not call that guy a liar any more than I was being called a liar for saying they gave me all the time I needed for a death in family. I don't know if he did go back to work after only a week but I know I wouldn't have done it. There are laws to protect you from losing ur job in that situation. He wouldn't have gotten paid but couldn't get fired. And my condolences to him you shouldn't even have to esplain to your workplace why u are unable to go back to work after a week of losing your spouse.

Now I am through with this board. I will pop in once in awhile to see how many more times I get drug through the mud with my previous posts, but I am finished with posting my opinions. I am apologizing for any negative things I may have called anyone for posting their opinions and know I won't receive any apologies for the things I was called for posting mine. How things go with any job vary, you can love it one day and the next you could hate it. I love how Frito lay has and does treat me and I am sorry for everyone elses bad experiences. I do not like restructuring and that the person who has been there even a day longer than u can take a route tou love from you. That is my one and only negative about this job and yes while I was experiencing that for the first time I had difficulty with it and posted likewise. That said pLease please please stop with bringing up my old posts. And all who come on here just make your own decision if you want to work there or not. I just only came on here to post my experience with the job and how much different it is than everyone elses on here and that I hope to be there forever.

Deanna in Mount Holly, North Carolina said: Yea Kath, I agree with you. I worked there almost three years and was ready to blow my brains out towards the end. I was so stressed. I just thank God that my husband is the breadwinner of the house, allowing me to find another job and take a big cut in pay. That is the problem with ALL route sales jobs. Most people that do these jobs are indeed miserable, but they have their bills set up on what they are making and cannot afford to take a cut in pay. Routes in our area start at around $44,000 per year. Jobs are scarce in our area and where else can you go and start out at $44,000 per year? Therefore, people are trapped, or atleast that's how the men felt that I worked with. Trust me, if they could find another job starting off with what they make at Frito Lay, they would be long gone. The Charlotte district has a horrible turn over rate. Even with what they pay, it's still not enough to keep people there. For the people who have made a career out of it, I take my hat off to ya--I just couldn't handle it.

This is my point -- even with the great pay and benefits -- people with pensions still quit this place all the time-- WHY--

Hey Keliz everything good from here-- i had dental surgery and when i came home you were on me about a lawyer so i got twisted--- but look being real i am glad you have a job and enjoy it cuz the world is tuff right now and all the rich people(companies) are being uber greedy so its tuff for the rest of us. Frito was ok but its hard to bust your azz for em -- give your life up-- and then cuz some yahoo been there before you (even if they are terrible at there job) they take your route (happened to me twice). But at least we both workin ( i like casino but the money for me is just decent) and its a tuff but fun job too. I am looking for something else tho cuz of the crazy hours and i want more money(always) Good luck!!!!!

That sums it up to a tee. This job is not worth the money. People make 50k plus and have pensions and they still quit. Life is too short even if you lived to be 200 years old. Frito wont be as dominent as they have been (they willstill be number one) but they are gonna start losing market share because of there prices.

That is why i think they do it different in Canada. NO WAY in the USA can you go home for lunch or go to the doctor while at work. My buddy works 11-12 hours a day and he doesnt have time to do anything but get gas for his truck and he eats lunch driving from store to store. I had smaller routes so i was able to eat lunch but you cant do anything else cuz they have lojack and they track where the truck is ( they wont even let him idle the truck to long) cuz they dont wanna waste gas

He told me a story last week where he hit a pothole and the battery busted through the bottom of the truck. So he was down for awhile. They tried to make him wait around and make hime finish the route which woulda stuck him in a bad neighborhood pretty late. He flat out refused and told them to send him help or he was goin to make it up on Sat. The dsl came and helped him but bcthed the whole time

The only thing that sux is no pension for anyone hired after dec 31 2010 but that is what they do. I think you will be good cuz up in Canada they take care you the rsr's better that in the states. That said save your money cuz its tuff cuz its hard to get seniority there and being at the bottom is tuff. After you work awhile come back and post the good and bad points about the job to you( go get that money)

Here's the truth:
If you want to make great money, obtain great benefits, and possibly sacrifice work/life balance to do these two things, Frito-Lay is right for you. This is true whether you're in management as a DSL or not (RSR).

Overall, the numbers are all that matter. If you have a good DSL, a good route, or are good at what you do, it can be manageable. If all those things aren't true, you're in trouble. I made great money there - more than I have at my most recent position, but I would trade in that paycheck for my weekends and work/life balance back any day. I did just that! Look at the smile on my face, baby! =)

If you're lazy, have children, don't like getting up early, or enjoy your weekends, this is not the job for you. If you're single, no children, hard-working, and want to make a bunch of money and don't care how many hours you have to work to do it, sign on the dotted line. It's that simple.

There is a spot on our handhelds that we can go into our timecard and log off for breaks, for things like lunch, dr appointments, etc. I have never ever had time for such a thing lol. Stores want you there at specific times and I push from the time - clock in till I clock out because when your done you can go home. I feel for all you guys and gals...I'm no longer with that Chip company. Every time my RSR's started making some real green, along comes the bean counters for re-engineering. The company spews alot of nonsense about work life balance and how much they care for you. In reality...The DSL position is the worst responsiblity to have because it all falls on them when plan is not hit, routes are down, T-Rex is not compliant, CMA's are not signed, DOT Binders are not compliant and they never remove anything off their plates. I could go on...but from what I've read already you all are very well eductated with the process.

I feel for you guys and ladies who work for a company who spews the nonsense regarding work/life balance and who take money through re-engineering every time you start to make a decent wage. Feel for the DSL as well who is responsible for every metrix know to Frito and nothing is ever removed from their plates. But know this...there is life and normalcy after frito lay. Imagine working just 40 hours a week and having a true work/life balance when you can spend time with your children and loved ones. God Bless those who stay......

This from a DSL. Very telling how they make the DSL's and RSR's do all the work while management is incompetent. The district i worked for had a horrible Zone Leader. The guy was all in it for his money and nothing else. The good news for RSR's is if the economy gets worse they will be the last to go. I too have read some of those statements on the 99% website. It is terrible but i cant understand why some of these people dont look for other work. Some say i owe 40 thousand and cant find a job in my field. Well look in another field. Its funny because Frito wont hire people like that even with college cuz they know they will leave asap. Frito looks for people that are boring and wants nothing but to work. Being honest its a smart move by them. They need OTR truckers everywhere and yet cuz you went to college you are to good to do it. My friend made 87 thousand last year working for FED EX. Yes he is gone alot he only comes home on Mon and Tue, but he is making alot of money and its steady.
