With KBR,(unskilled labor),regular laborers & food service is $2000.00 plus 75% uplift Skilled labor: Skilled Labor (carpenters, HVAC) with KBR is 2583.00 plus 75% uplift. Maybe that will help you some. Also, try looking at the other indeed Forums like KBR Salaries, Bonuses and Benefits. You might have to do some digging, but I am pretty sure that you'll more info on the salaries. Good Luck!

Other than your husbands wonderful experiences I have yet to hear any other positive ones. Let me ask something. If everyone that was in the position of authority at KBR as people say were bad lousy lame etc and they were transitioned/rehired by said new companies, do you honesty think their management skills improved? LOL you are a hot mess my friend. |

DonnaFletcher in Maine said: Hello everyone ~ My husband has been hired by Fluor as a plumber in Afghanistan. He will be flying to Greenville on either May 22 or June 5th. It goes without saying that the living conditions are not great...We are, afterall, at war. Can anyone give any insight into just how dangerous it is over there? I can handle being apart from him for months at a time if I know that he will be coming home to me in the end. Also, I was hoping someone could share some information regarding ways to stay in touch (phone calls, email, etc). Thank you! Donna, We are out of harms way for the most part. We do not go outside the base unless we are traveling to a new one, then we are in armored verhicles with armored military escort. The good thing is that he is going to work for Flour, that means he will be in the North, which has alot less fighting than the South. By no means am I saying that he is 100% safe, we are working in a war zone. As for communication. My advise would be to load skype on his laptop. The internet is available at most sites, it isn't cheap, but it's here. You can make free calls to anyone else that has skype. You can also call any phone number in the states for 2.1 cents a min. My wife and I talk once a day, every day. If the internet connection is good, we share video. |

Think he was there with you right about time hubby was going back from RR. Is he still enjoying it in greenville? And or anxious to move over to overseas? |

HI y'all.....guess it's time to post on the FLuor site vs the KBR....still all in all I always think of everyone as yaya's. Hubby has been with Fluor and so far so good. The transition from KBR to Fluor was fairly easy according to my Big Guy. Can't wait for our R&R in June, 5/31 to be exact lol. It will have been 6 months since I have seen him. And we have our new grandbaby that he has yet to meet. Kathy, I been you are so excited! And Mona I bet you are WAY excited! Koko, how fun looking for a house! Hope those babies of yours are well and keeping you busy! I hope everyone is well...Beth |

CG in Austin Tx in Austin, Texas said: do you happen to have info. on the R&R pay? thanks. Hey, I found this a few pages back..........thanks to KoKo ""Ok, I have heard it can be as high as 4200.00 a RR==posted on other forums here in indeed. I think hubby is a little less than though. So to get annual RR pay just times your RR pay by 4 a yr--it a good chunk of change, regardless. Also one factor to consider with RR pay. It can flex around renewal of contract time owing to jet-fuel expenses which will be reflected in the price of your plane tickets. So if you recall over the moon fuel prices summer before last--well RR pay was higher then. And to be clear you do not get your RR pay until after you get back from RR. So your first RR is going to be out of your own pocket so to speak. When you get back overseas--it take about 2 checks--4 weeks as I recall-for you to see it reflected on your check."" KoKo and I talked about this a couple of days ago, and it's going to be a little longer to get your R & R
Good Luck to you!

Here is a link to comments regarding FLUOR's offer to KBR employees transitioning In Country. And it's pretty accurate IMHO. mssparky.com/2009/10/fluors-locap-iv-offer-for-kbr-employees-in-afghanistan if you google MS Sparky, you'll find a source that is a melting pot of comments. Good, Bad and indifferent!

I was told that I would be getting a call back the next week it's been 3 weeks now. On the Fluor status it still has "Under Review" does anyone have any idea what's going on? The position I applied for was Document Data Tech. Did he forward your resume to the hiring authority? Recruiters don't hire. They recommend candidates to the hiring managers and 99% of the time the hiring authority follow their recommendation. |

ITT pays you as soon as you become eligible, Fluor pays you upon return. What we have been told is that both companies travel department reviews these numbers quarterly and they may change depending on ticket prices, meals ect. Fluor's travel used to be $4200 during the second quarter of last year, but was changed. |
