No company is going to go thru all the expense of just getting someone to Greenville, and then the expense of keeping the potential employee living in a hotel, getting a paycheck, money for food, and then just have them escorted off company property for "asking questions". People are escorted out for serious offenses, such as violation of company policy. Perhaps a drug test?? Kat (Disclaimer: not all of us in Nashville are a whack-job) |

Hey, ya'll, please excuse the double postings......
What I wanted to say is this, at one of my previous companies, I know of three co-workers that were walked out, and it was for violation of company policy. I think that if you make it to Greenville or Houston, you have accomplished alot. Many of us would love to have the opportunity to get that far. Ya'll take care! Kat |

I'm not saying it's something they wouldn't do, I've just never heard of that. |

With regard to SF85 or SF86:
â¦Know thyself / know the battleground!: This is crucial. Before you fill out your SF85 / SF86 download it and read it. See what information it asks for, for how long, etc. Know what level of clearance you're going through and act accordingly. Don't wait until you've the form in front of you to go and do your research. â¦Know thine derogatory factors!: Not only know: live, breathe and be one with your derogatory factors. If your problem is financial, know your credit report inside and out. Resolve those you can; at the very least have a plan and FOLLOW THROUGH WITH IT. I guess that the same can be said about other problems. â¦Thou shalt be HONEST: If it ain't pretty, tell it like it is. There's plenty of space for comments in the form. If you don't know the answer to a question, explain it.
In terms of derogatory information did this: a couple of days before I filled out my form I went into my favorite word processor and wrote explanation notes for all my items. When the time came to fill out the form, it was a simple matter of copying / pasting the information. Another thing that helped a lot was that I am a meticulous record keeper. I keep a lot of papers and receipts and I'm sure about my information. This wasn't the first time I've been through a BI (Background Investigation) and I've kept the archival copies of in a secure (digital) location. |

If their still asking for info.. it's not done yet. You will receive a final copy to sign after all corrections. They will email the final copy for you to sign and send back. From what you are saying your going through corrections them updating your college info is a correction. They may ask you for more info then you will receive your final copy for you to sign. They use to do that in Greenville but it has changed !! |

tre2601 in miami, Florida said: Yes, I just sent it last week and someone from security called this morning and asked about some college info and said "that all I need..thanks." Iâve been applying and applyingâ¦..and applying with Fluor for about a year. I guess persistence pays off. I was contacted by a recruiter in February and received an offer a few days later. I wish I would have known that this would be a long, long process. From paper work, medical, dental all the way up to this *bleeping* SF85 which took me from March up until just last week to actually get it right. Iâm just ready to get to Greenville. And you can bet your sweet cheeks that I will make sure Iâll be keeping a low profile. Iâm definitely not trying to become the next contestant to get escorted home just for âasking too many questionsâ. I could care care less how long Iâm there. It would like a big accomplishment for me because from what Iâve read thereâs a lot of people that havenât come close to a recruiter smelling their resume. |

tre2601 I know exactly what you mean. I got my offer at about the same time you did in February. Then Paper work , medical, dental, shots! and the dreaded SF85. It's MAY ALREADY i'm so ready to go also. It's the waiting without an exact date for Greenville thats hard. But, i'm just very thankful to have made it so far.. I don't think it will be much longer now!! |

Well, that first copy I printed it off, signed it and sent it to them last week....So you're telling me that since they needed some additional info that I will have to signed another copy a send it back to them. I ask her if everything was okay and she said yes. I'm assuming she would've made it clear to me that I would have to sign it again. |

But if they said it's ok just go with it ... send me an email if you can.. |

pklav69 in Michigan said: Can anyone tell me the BEST method for shipping to Bagram Airbase? I went to the PO to ship...what a PAIN. Just curious if someone could share some knowledge with me. You can go to your local post office and pick up some APO/ FPO FLAT RATE priority mail boxes. As much stuff as you can pack in to that box, and trust me, you'd be surprised how much you can pack in one of those boxes, is just a flat rate around $12.00. That box can weigh 100 pounds! And if you order stuff on line, just ship it straight to your loved one. Amazon will ship no problem. Check to make sure that the company will ship to a APO Box. The post office also has a on-line application that you can set up and pay for the postage and print out the labels and the customs forms. I just go to the post office and do it myself. Hope that this helps you a little bit. Kat |

SHIPPING: Ok you will be shipping to a APO address, this is the bright side cause going to save you lots of money. As far as the best method. Depends on the size of packages. You can try the flat rate priority boxes--no weight limits--just stuff as much as you can in box and its 12.50 for the large sz box for APO addresses. Priority gets it there the fastest--u know in a perfect world. And generally speaking it does get it there a few days earlier than other modes. You can ship any sz--relatively speaking and as in your own boxes--priority too--I mean not just limited to their boxes--but it does get more spendy the larger the boxes and weight is factor in if you do not use the flat rate ones. For larger boxes--or even foot locker like trunks-- I recommend parcel post--it will save you money. Yes it can and does take longer to get there. They say up to 3-4 wks. But generally speaking it is more along the lines of 10-14 days. Where as priority is more generally 7-10 days max. Ok I spend .75-.85 cents--can't remember exact cause thinking went up for tracking on the packages. So I can monitor the packages progress. No you do not have to do this. But I find as in like the reassurance of. And the tracking is good to larger bases--I mean it will tell me when it arrived in Bagram. ( it doesn't work for it movement to the smaller outlaying FOBS after that--but you can see it through to the larger camps.) And you can put tracking on any package--priority, parcel or first class etc. For all packages you send over you will have to do a custom form. They are pretty simple to fill out. Just a half a doz carbon like copies so they look complicated--but they aren't. Make your description on of the contents simple and general, like snack foods, hygeine items, books, electronic etc. And remember to check the gift box so no added fees on the otherside. Which I do not think is really a issue for APO but need to check that section to complete the form |
|

Lastly, insurance is optional. I strongly encourage it if you are shipping any expensive items over--such as electronics. I do noT bother for like snack foods and such. But we had a new laptop get forked by a fork lift--so thank God for insuranace. =) |

Girl, everything is just rolling along. Where me / we live, we didn't have alot of water that hung around round here. I am just sitting around doing nothing......well, not just nothing. Delta Airlines called and I had to go and pick up Jimmy's passport. HR was giving him a hard time cause he couldn't prove that he went on R & R!
How's the house hunting coming along?? My big thing is that Jimmy has suggested that we do an out of country R & R!!! So, I am researching for someplace to go in December. Red-necks going global! LOL Your posting was much more detailed than mine!! See ya!
