Actually, I applied for them and was offered the same postion but didn't accept b-cuz the pay is no where near what I expected. You work 6 days a week 12 hrs but only make about 40 something year. The only good thing about it is that you get a security clearence....Well, thats what the recruiter told me...... I was told that before I started working with CSA in kuwait but come to find out that you didn't need one.

Hi All,

I haven't posted in a while, however, I'm still searching for employment and have applied everywhere to work in Information Technology. I have a degree, my A+ and CCNA certifications and can't seem to get a hit. If anyone can offer any assistance I would greatly appreciate it!

DO YOU HAVE A CONTACT OR EMAIL FOR THAT SERVICE! AND WHAT EXACTLY DID YOU USE FOR PROOF???

travel.state.gov/passport/get/first/first_830.html

This site tells you all you will need to get your passport--whether you are mailing away for it or going in person. You can also print off an application and get it prepared. Best of luck.

SO I GUESS ITS JUST THE KEYWORDS THAT THEY ARE LOOKING TO BE IN YOUE RESUME!

Yesterday I got an offer from ITT as well. I reworded my resume and used the format on the "Build your resume" section on Fluor's site. I now add this format to resumes on other job sites. I also added keywords from job desciptions. Recently,I got a few calls but ITT offered me the most. I'd like to say the new format helped along with keywords. Maybe the luck of the draw. But maybe, most people just have to put in thier time in the waiting game to get called. I've been applying since November and finally got a call I never expected to happen. I nearly lost hope.
I accepted the offer, of course. Filled out, printed the offer letter, questionaire, job application, auth for release forms and faxed it back. Does anyone know the next step?

For Flour. they have a medical company call you and set up the appointment. then they will send you a form for you to print out and take with you. The dentist just checked for cavities it's like a basic dental exam. If you have something wrong you just have to get it fixed before you go...

The reason for the dental exam is two-fold. If you have a bad tooth pop up when you get there they must send you out of theatre to get it fixed. Second, they must have dental x-rays on everyone in case they need them for identification, if you know what I mean.

Unless they are not doing x-rays anymore. KBR always did the DNA swab so maybe that covers it.

ITT is a subcontractor of fluor so our numbers are not near as big. ITT mainly deals with ssa, flight tower, mct, and fire services on the base. I think total on my base theres about 50 of us that are ITT out of at least 600 contractors in the fluor village.

The pay is better, R&R is set up great. I know to work in the SSA they require you to have a Secret Clearance since we handle weapon parts and other sensitive items.

ITT is a Fluor sub-contractor, basically all of the living conditions and everything else that you are reading about for KBR and Fluor are all going to apply to ITT. There is very little difference when you actually get here. The guys from ITT have a slightly better R&R package, but that is about it. We all live and eat the same here.

Hi, I have a couple of questions and hopefully I'll get some valuable information. I applied for a position with Fluor, and ended up getting in contact with a certain individual from the Talent Acquisition Group. He told me to provide the Brass Ring number of the position I applied for and he would forward my information to a recruiter to review my resume/qualifications. The first question is, I know nothing is instant, but is there a certain period of time to wait to follow up, or just let it be? Second question is, I'm sure a background check is conducted, but are there any knockout questions? I am prior military and I do have an Other Than Honorable discharge, which is not the same as a Dishonorable Discharge. I have no problem discussing it with them, but just want to see if it's worth the effort if it automatically bars me. Thanks alot in advance for the advice....been reading this forum for a couple of years and just took interest in a LOGCAP IV position.

The background check asks for a list of basic specific questions, such as name, SS number, address, if you have ever broken any laws/ committed any crimes–which is presumed this includes traffic violations and it generally goes back seven yrs. ( it is most important to be as honest as possible but they really do not allow for a lot of room to explain yourself). That comes later if any red flags are raised. & It does ask for your military service history--as far as what branch you served in and failing that a register number for males 18 or older. But what they are namely looking for is any criminal background as far as federal offenses.

Now once you get into the SF85–or if the position calls for it SF86, they do ask for much more information and there’s more room to explain yourself. Best of luck.

Using all caps is considered yelling also very rude in cyberspace, did you get the passport issued fixed? Normally they ask if you have a passport during the interview due to the fact they are looking to deploy you soon as you are done with processing. Not starting anything with you but if you normally type in this fashion i am sure if you ever have to use the computer to generate reports i am sure your report will be kicked back. I am not a rhodes scholar but just trying to help.

Does anybody know if I already have an active Secret Security Clearance that is sponsored by my current employer(good for 7 more years), do I still have to fill out the sf-85p and or another sf-86? I assume, it is just like the process when I got out of the Army and got the job I have now. They just signed for it and sponsor it. Is it the same process for overseas positions?

Sooooo...now I'm in Afghanistan and this kinda sucks. My job is easy but the living conditions suck like many people said before. Some tents have more than 400 people in a tent with two exits. It's a fire hazard. People are eating in the tent and we have rats. Nobody is doing anything about it. Nobody enforcing the rules. You can get away with anything as long as you look like you know what you doing. The money is good but I'm also looking for another job because I want to keep my options open.

Do a google search for an SF86p (it is very different from an SF85) and start gathering all of the information that you need to fill it out. Follow the instructions carefully. ITT requires a secret security clearance on all of their employees. Remember, their can be no gaps in residence or employment, if you were unemployed for a couple of months you have to list it. Be absolutely honest, if they find something you didn't list you are done. Hope this helps some, you been at this a while.

If you have a Fluor account, Click on the Resume/CV manager in the Welcome Page. If you have a resume thats already on profile, then click on the Edit icon. A new screen should pop up to allow you to edit resume. Click on the link Resume/CV tips. A new screen should pop up with the tips and recommeded format. hope this helps.

I always thought this was a Fluor Form???? But now we have ITT and Dyncorp post on here.... which is confusing people on how Fluor processes it's employee's. From what im reading it's a little different with each company. Fluor secruity will have you do a SF85 and will walk you through that process..

Once you submit your SF85 to Fluor secruity they will contact you and tell you what corrects need to be made on your SF85 before they submit it!!

The SF85P -public trust is a DOD requirement and required by all the companies–employees of. In fact anyone hired on before they were made required eventually will be required to do one–if they have not done so already.

As far as debt and the SF85P–depends on the position you are applying for. If former/ current debt is an issue for the position you are applying for the job description “should” be specific of that. Failing that, if a recruiter calls that should be a covered topic with you so as to screen your viability for the position they called you for. ( to use as an example, some working in or seeking work in the postal services over there have been caught up and denied positions owing to debts. )

But as OT mentioned already the most important issue with the SF85P is honesty. As it is a public trust, they are screening candidates to see if they are “trust-worthy”. So if you have past and or current issues it is important to make a full disclosure of. If you do not and they find something then your trust- worthiness may be called into question and you may then be denied an opportunity for employment you are seeking over there. And while I am not familiar with ITT first or second hand, Rest assured there are others who have had past and even present ( as in more current) “issues” and gone on to work overseas. Best of luck.
