If your offer is with Flour it will most likely be in the North. The only thing they have in the South is task order 4, which is pretty small. Right now I am in the Kabul area, but that can change tomorrow, I have bounced around some. What do you do Sub?

Well, I just applied and never went back to the site to check my status. Atcually I sort of forgot that I applied with them b/cuz I remember during that time submitting applications with many different contractors. A month later a recruiter called me and offered me a position. I've been waiting ever since to go fly to GV.

As long as the blood pressure can be controlled with meds, you are alright. I do not know about the diabetes, I think as long as you are insulin dependent you are good on that too.

As gone fishing said, as long as you are not insulin dependent, you should be fine. The issue with insulin dependance is the need to refrigerate your meds/ insulin and various camps/fobs can not be required to guarantee the ability to do so. Refrigeration may not be readily available u see. Best of luck.

My husband is with DynCorp - he has filled out his SF85 Form 5 times - yes 5 times - in the last 8 months and still does not have his CAC Card/basic clearance...They keep losing his and everyone elses paperwork. He is now trying to apply with other companies and because he does not have the completed SF85 it is causing issues.....Way to go DynCorp....Even being an O & M Mgr does not help the process...

Well Melinda you remember how much you use to cheer for that company, i am not going to beat dead horse to death but i have also had to do mine twice now. I was told CAC cards are not needed if you are at Kandahar???

An ISAF badge is required in Kandahar. It is a local requirement, you can almost bet you will travel to another site where you will need a CAC card.

I have been waiting 2 months for my CAC,I'm with DynCorp and have travelled by air and ground on mil, no CAC needed. the average wait is 2-3 months??? they say the gov is backed up??? same thingwith Fluor. If you are not sure of the exact day you can enter ?? instead of the day. It really shouldn't slow it down.

How is he on base without a CAC card? We'd be instantly fired if I lost it or something. You need one for everything, food, PX, APO, etc..

Afghanistan is a totally different contract "NATO" ran bases, Iraq is USA ran bases, so yes CAC in Iraq is needed, as stated before we convoy, fly, eat etc... no CAC, all military, DynCorp did one thing better, they have there own helicopter force so when you cannot get Mil air which we all know, contractors get bumped all the time we can still move around, Afghan is a toally different beast, but money is finally coming in, I am in the mountains at a main hub site and have been traveling for 1 week and since I left there constructing new bldgs, and expanding the base, the time to get on is now!!!

Had anyone been employed by IAP recently? I am curious to know what they pay, the living conditions, and what they are all about.

Yes I do remember. Boy do I. Almost no one has been issued the CAC card - even after 8 months. Hubby gets into places because people assume an O&M Mgr has one...For the most part you do not need one. I will admit we were lucky in that we have never missed a paycheck Like so many do with the Dyn Payroll system. Though hubby has to go to bat for his employees each and every month to make sure they do not miss getting paid. Things are just so messed up.... Perhaps back to KBR or Fluor soon.

Not at KAF you don't. They don't have CAC cards because Dyn can't get the paperwork processed. It is such a problem that you have access to everything because no one has them. Can you imagine no one being able to eat at the DEFAC because no one has the CAC Card?

I already have a clearance and have a background in security as well as auditing. What exactly are these people looking for? Can anyone help me please?

It's funny everyone has an agenda, they say this company screwed up and that one don't treat there people right bla, bla, bla. Nobody assumes you have a CAC this is military where dealing with, if they ask for one and you don't have it your denied accesss!! I think youer "hubby" forgot to tell you the facts, they do ID checks at all areas!!! I know I'm here, and they do not ask for CAC, they ask for company ID, Nato ID or for the TCN's and FN's they ask for the individual camp ID' they make at every base the military has a security depart and vet these people,so for an O&M manager he know squat!!! It bothers me people make acusations that Dyn can't get the paperwork right, have you forgot why people sit in Greenville 2-3 months???? CAC approval. You don't need a CAC to eat, if your a contractor, you need an LOA or a CAC. The FN's have to use there LOA everywhere.

Depends on where and what kind of project. The trades Qatar are making about $89k and live pretty well, but that is an AFCAP project. They work a 6 day week and housing ain't bad. I have a friend that spent 3 years there and I had an offer to go last year (should have taken it). I am not sure what they are paying in Iraq and Afghanistan under LOGCAP. The uplift in Qatar is 35% vs 70-80% here and in Iraq.

the recruiters have flagged it, something in your resume accumilated enough points to be looked at for a specific job, once it is reviewed by a person they will notify you or they won't? it can take 1-2 days or 2 weeks, but the way the bases are expanding currently that is a great thing!! hope the best for you!

I got hired in Feb '10, and I spent 4-5 months doing physicals, SF85p, dental and a whole bunch of other crap, and at the last minute, they told me that there was a transition going on in the Middle East and that my job (and "supposedly" 100 others) has been put on hold. Can someone tell me if this is true or not? They are still posting jobs on the website, so I'm starting to think they are bluffing.

We are hearing that they are over staffed here in Afghanistan. There is a bunch of people sitting in Bagram waiting for a place to go. The rumor is that the military is asking questions about the excess staffing sitting there doing nothing. This is just rumor so take it for what it is worth.

Hi The gov received my sf85 form 3 weeks ago and this week marks 4 weeks of me waiting on my reply. They have allready sent mail to all my references and they have all sent them back in. any ideas as to what is next, or how much longer anyone thinks it will take?

Regarding the SF85p; What happens if none of your references respond to the letter they receive and/or they can't be reached by phone?

It's been 50 plus days since Ind. Security recieved my SF85 signed along with my fingerprints...I'm starting to get a litte worried now.
