Your average starting salary at GE Infrastructure Transportation (GEIT)depends on (1) education level, (2) work experience, (3)professional certifications. There are no bonuses unless if you are in Senior Professional Band or higher OR if you negotiate such clauses when they make the job offer. In terms of benefeits, GEIT are pretty standard with other major companies. The only thing that stand out is that as an employee you will get really SPECIAL pricing on GE appliances. Travel requirements are pretty standard, although you do get to pig-out when you travel overseas.

What I liked the most working for GEIT is the opportunity to travel abroard and drive hard to execute jobs to closure. The benefits do come when you hit the homerun but they fade off rather quickly. However, if you go down swinging, might as well start looking for another job because GE does not give second chances. Period.

Know anything about what the facility does in Corbin, Kentucky? I think it has something to do with the locomotive section.

I applied online at the GE web page for a Technician job in Ohio. Two months later, some recruiter in New York emailed me and said to try for a bunch of Technical Director positions across the country (whichever ones I desired).

The job numbers he gave me did not exist on the GE web page. I had to search by title and found different job numbers. He/she also said to be sure to put them down on the online application.

Thanks.
