Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at GMAC Mortgage? Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers? What is a typical day in the life of an employee at GMAC Mortgage? |

GMAC Mortgage is huge on recruiting, but not on retaining employees. Managers are subjected to hours and hours of conference calls and the midwest offices are run too lean, hard to help newcomers and attend senseless meetings and watch your back. Dress is casual and professionalism is questionable. Great concept and products but need to eliminate a lot of shady middle-management to become the leader in the industry. |

worst job in the industry in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan 54 months ago |
This is by far the worst company to work for. The managers never help and they throw you to the wolves and start with a pipeline of 80 loans. Then write you up (instead of training you) when you are not on turn time. The managers will always take the Loan Officers side and they run the show. You can expect to get loans in the door and close within 2 days, you will need to stay late or come in early and family will not matter. On the bright side you can wear jeans and tennis shoes every day. |

I worked for a subsidiary of GMAC for almost 6 yrs. The key to working for this company is you must kiss a lot of mgr butt to keep your job or advance with in the company. Oh and NEVER EVER give any great ideas to your direct mgr, email them to their supervisors instead. Watch your back with these people as they are cutting each others throats to get the next promotion. Good luck, working for this company is like being on a reality tv show. |

Yea, my buddy worked for these scum bags and he was fired for, whatever.despite a great record of achievment and background-guess he couldnt kiss butt or act stupid like many of the cement heads at these Mc Mortgage co's..all these companies are the same. Banking was such a noble industry to get into 35-40 years ago when the suits were running the show without all the government pressure to make loans to every low life with a credit score and a pulse. GMAC is emblematic but no exclusive in the greivences I am reading here. This happened at everywhere I worked-GE Capital, Headlands, ResMae, CIT Group, even an old hard lending co. like Commercial Credit went PC and started hiring based on profiles, quotas...runined this profession and kept guys like me from moving into expansive roles.. |

Every company I have ever worked for, no matter what the industry, you had to kiss butt to get anywhere. People who were completely incompetent in their work get ahead because they were competent butt kissers. |

Listen to these all these comments. Stay away from them and if you can believe it, DITECH is 10 times worse. I would rather risk losing my house than work for these animals. |
