What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable? How does GameStop stack up against the competition? |

The company is going to do great. I'm getting a new store in Amherst since I got my boss fired (as a reward) and as long as everyone else does most of the hard work, I can continue to stand in front of the register and ring some of the sales and avoid walking out on the floor! I'm going to make a great Store Manager. |

As you can see from past acquisitions (EB Games, Babbages, Funcoland) Anytime Gamestop senses a threat they just buy it. As for struggling, During this "Economic Crisis" they are still opening new stores and always hiring new employees. Being in the entertainment business never really hurts during economic struggles because people need outlets to get away from the troubles they are facing and Video Games is a good one. If anything, they do better. People don't have the cash for new games they want? So they trade their old stuff in for it which keeps the wheels turning. |
