does anyone else think that gamestop is a rip off like I do? for example they will sell you an original XboX for $60 but they will only pay $10 if you want to sell them one. That is an outrageous difference !!! |

That's the essence of a capitalistic society: buy low, sell high. The advantage they have is that they are a well-established and trusted retail source; this enables them to be able to purchase it from you for so low, given that you clearly have no other consumer base to supply to, and sell it for such an inflated amount. |

This is the company that I got fired from thanks in large part to the current District Manager in the Buffalo North market. After six years of service with the company vastly improving four different locations that were chalked up as lost causes and driving sales numbers to the #1 slot in Madden '07, Madden '08, Madden '09 and Grand Theft Auto IV (ranking first out of 120 stores), I got clipped on a technicality so that Gamestop could save money by not giving me a stock option grant that I recently signed off and so that I could get screwed out of a yearly bonus that I was well on track for. Big mistake, Gamestop. Rue the day, Thruway. Shop somewhere else. Anywhere else. |

What a lot of people don't know about video game retail is the amount of mark-up on new product. Its next to none. the profit on a new xbox 360 that you bought for $300, they bought for around $290. All of the profit comes from the used business. Thats why you will never see a video game retailer only sell new product. Or if you do, they'll be out of business in no time. There is just no money in it. And before you say, What about Best Buy!? They are not a video game retailer, and even then. A lot of their stores on the west-coast take trades and sell used product. |

Gamestop is a buisness in a free market economy where it is either eat or be eaten. NOT A CHARITY. Ofcourse we buy low and sell high. Buisnesses are open to make money, and the ones that arent open to make money are precisley that...NOT OPEN....If we were there everyday to make little billy happy then we would treat them like we do sony, microsoft, and nintendo and buy thier product in bulk for dollars a unit less then we sell it for....But since there is no gaurantee that ur xbox will not crap out in 4 days and we end up having to buy it again ship it to get fixed and ship back to be sold again all at the companies expense be happy the store u shop at even still deals with a dead technology at all. Regular xbox really? u really do need a job guy. |
