Do you work at GE Money? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview?

Any advice for someone trying to get in?

I would not be looking for opportunity at WMC right now. They are struggling to keep the doors open.

If you want entry-level, have some call center or banking experience.

I worked at a GEMoney call center as a temp through Kelly Services (though GE may use a different temp agency now/in your town) during the hollidays, they hire a bunch of temps around october/november to work through christmas taking credit card calls.
I made a good impression on my Quality assurance supervisors and they recomended me to one of the hiring managers, so when I applied for a job there the hiring manager actually looked at my application.

i worked at the GE call center in canton, oh for 5 years. i started as a collector, and later became a dialer operator. ge gives a test before your interview in which you watch a video, and answer questions having to do with the video periodically. the test is multiple choice, but more than 60% fail. after that i went through 2 interviews. dress nice, introduce yourself, and always use a technique called E.A.R in which, when the interviewer asks you a question, you give an EXAMPLE, explain the ACTION you took, and give the RESULT. E.A.R is the key to passing a GE interview.

Namrata..I have some very dear friends in Hydrabad and Gurgon now. As a dialer operator, they also had a dialer team, which we work very closely with to ensure good performance.

I applied today for Customer Service / Call Center in Tampa. I applied online and it just said I would get a phone interview- do they only do phone interview in tampa or do they interview on phone and then in person?
Do they ask the SAR questions ( situation, action, result ) on the phone?

Yes they do. I am scheduled to take my assessement tomorrow, although I'm not sure if I'll accept any job offers after reading how some people hate GE. They phone interview is very basic, explain a time when you went above and beyond, what would your current/last supervisor say about you, name a time when your co-worker did something, blah blah blah.
