Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at GE Money?

Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers?

I worked for GE money for 2 years and wouldn't recommend it. They pay really well but the hours are horrific and the place is really disorganized. There is basically a competition to see who can work the longest hours. About half my team arrived at the site Christmas party 3 hours late (10PM on a Friday) because they were still at work. It was a stunt to get attention but you get the idea. They don't even pay lip service to work life balance. Most of my co-workers were either hopelessly single or in loveless marriages. Stay Away Stay Away.

I've tried several times for a position with the call center. Each time, I've went all the way through to the interview and yet, they haven't hired me. I believe I interviewed well. I'm stomped on this one. I took that really long test three times and passed it each time. What exactly are they looking for?

I have been with GE Money for 5 years and I love every minute of working here. It all comes down to your manager. I changed manager 4 times during this one particular year and my last assigned manager was terrific. If you get along well with your manager and deliver high quality work, you will go a long way withing GE. GE Money is also a great place to work for minority. I am a minority and never felt alone at all.
