Does anyone know what it takes to trigger sufficient interest to have someone contact a prospective candidate ? From what I read of the job description for a particular position, I fit all the requirements quite well. I also have keen/specific interests/experience in the position and have never even gotten notification that my resume has been received. I am beginning to think I am doing something wrong WRT applying for the position. |

I've had the same problem and cannot find any names. However, I did get an acknowledgement of my application with a candidate reference number. I don't know what good that does me |

You may want to start out as a GE Contractor through Granite Technical Services...website is www.penpower.com...This will get a foot in the door. GE typically hires their contractors after 6 months to a year. |

Hello All, I can give you a little insight on how to gt seen by a recruiter, seeing how I am one at GE Infrastructure. First, when you apply to a position, you are put into the jobs folder. The job folders are only assigned to recruiters IF the job is of top priority and needs to be filled. A lot of positions are not assigned recruiters because there are such a high volume of positions as well as applicants. The job descriptions posted on the website are blanket forms that legal has deemed acceptable. So they are pretty boring and the hiring managers can only change or add a few things within each description. Also, recruiters use the database to source candidates for the new positions. Make sure to have ALL of your qualifications listed and use all possible words to describe what you are able to do. We use the keyword search to find candidates - the more relevance, the higher they fall in the search sample. There are millions of resumes in our database, it is a little dificult rummaging through EVERYONE to find just the right one. Also, make sure your contact information is current on your profile. |

Do you ever consider a former GE employee if they apply for a job in a different position. I lost my job at GE Healthcare due to some bad politics, but loved the company and what I was doing. I have applied to several GE jobs, sometimes getting a first HR screen... then nothing. Any ideas here? |

Maybe it show commitment and initiative right off the bat, dunno...also find out who your "feeder" company is. Sometimes a company is more likely to look at you after you've been screened through a staffing corp, even if you've applied on your own previously. |
