Georgia-Pacific in Clatskanie, OR, corners the market in tissue grade paper in our region. Though they are experiencing some extreme changes due to the Koch Industries buyout, I expect them to be better positioned after the reorganization is complete to really thrive. With the number of individuals that took severance packages after the buyout and the upcoming retirements, I don't expect there will be any layoffs. Of the other paper mills in the region, Georgia-Pacific is one of the best in terms of rate of pay and technological advancements. The investment of the new $200 million paper machine at this particular mill shows that they are committed to remaining a strong and viable facility.
