chris in Moreauville, Louisiana said: i would like to know about being a merchandiser stockering cards on shelves at stores please send me info I have worked as a Hallmark merchandiser since last June. I am what is referred to as a "Floater". I go to local Wal-Mart stores and fill in for the regular people when they are out. You have to receive and check in Hallmark stock. WalMart has a specific spot in their stockroom. You have to make sure the cards are all stocked and the pockets are full. There is a scan gun that tells you where the cards should be placed. The racks are lettered and numbered to tell you where the cards are supposed to go. Some stores have double coverage-- meaning that someone works the store in the am and someone works the store in the pm. Some stores get worked 6 days a week and some get worked 7 days. You also have to maintain the giftbags & bows and stickers. Not a tough job, but can be lots of hours of standing on your feet. Count on at least 8 hours when the department is being reset. That's when they change the card set-up or a new line comes in and old one have to be taken out. Let me know if I can answer more questions. |

Ha....My husband worked there for 5 years...it about killed him. |

I applied through a newspaper ad. You can also go to www.narms.com. They have a listing of merchandising jobs and you look up in your area. |
