Do you work at Harrah's Entertainment? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview?

Any advice for someone trying to get in?

I used to work there as a supervisor. Go in to HR dressed for an interview. NO JEANS or T-SHIRTS!!! and do not bring the family. Ask for the current job openings. If there is one you are interested in ask if the hiring supervisor is available to talk to you about the job. Keep constant eye contact, speak clearly, appear interested in what they are saying even if you are totally board. Be profesional at all times. Good luck. Have you tried the Ramada?

I am always amazed that people who cannot even spell the simplest of words properly actually get an interview, let alone a job!

Very good points. I've always been amazed by applicants who bring an entourage with them or dress like they're ready to do yardwork. I even had a fellow pull an orange and start to eat it.

I agree. Dress conservatively. Iron your clothes. Polish your shoes. Don't wear facial hardware. Cover up your tatoos. Don't show cleavage or any midriff. Check out the company before your interview and review how employees are dressed and groomed. There is a paperback book called 96 great interview questions by Paul Falcone. (less than $15). An interview is a test for which you can study. Prepare! Your job is to convince them why they need you. Don't just show up and ask about pay and benefits. First you have to convince them to hire you. Have a good attitude at every interview. Whenever you are frustrated and want to say #$%@, tell someone to have a nice day. One more thing--don't criticize a former employer, even if they didn't pay you or discriminated--criticism of past employers is always a turnoff to prospective employers. These are simple things, but if you take my advice, which is just common sense, you will have an advantage over those who don't.

If you want to work in a Casino, the first thing you want to do is go online and fill out the application. Unlike most industries, the Casino industry pretty much screen their applications online. If you have the necessary experience they'll contact you. If not, you will not hear from them. Another way to get into a Casino is to know someone whom already works in Casino Security. This allows you to get your resume to the proper person to get you an interview, then it's up to you
Another good place to start is Mall Security on the Strip. The pay is generally good and it allows you the chance to meet Casino Security, which will then open doors for you.
Depending on your experience level, as a female you shouldn't have much problem getting a job in Vegas in Secuity, everyone is looking for experienced female officers. They are hard to keep most times because of the shortage of them.
