In July 2007 the franchise branch I worked in was taken over by Hertz corporate and became a city branch. Since then the working conditions we are forced to perform under have gone from bad to worse. Allow me to ellaborate.. 1. Due to restructuring out fabulous manager was made redundant (it was either that or accept a less paid post as branch supervisor). 2. Distribution have been defleeting cars left, right and center. This has meant that what few cars we have have enormous great milages on and are usually littered with damage. 3. Due to the decrease in fleet numbers most offices have to survive on a minimal number or vehicles. Branches are forced to turn cars around on the way back from collections which means (with the added advantage that the corporate fuel charge cards claim to authorise car washes but actually dont!) that the majority of these cars are being delivered in a disgraceful state. 4. Working hours have become a thing of distant memory, with the car problems linked with reservations complete ignorance of the situation results in staff who are contracted to leave at 18.00 can look forward to at least a 19.15 finish. 5. The management response to this has constantly been.. 'It will get better' Well quite frankly I'm sick of hearing it. Just thought I'd put things into perspective lol! |
