Do you work at Hilton? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview?

Any advice for someone trying to get in?

It depends which hotel you are looking to get a job at. Not all Hilton hotels are owned and operated by Hilton, most are actually franchised to independent owners and management companies. The Hilton Family of hotels includes the brands Hilton, Embassy Suites, Doubletree, Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Conrad, and the Waldorf-Astoria Collection.

A good way to start your job search is to check the Hilton Careers website where you will find jobs at Hilton owned and operated hotels, here is direct link to Hilton Hotels Corporation job listings:
careers.hilton.com

You will notice that probably not all the Hilton Family hotels in your area will be listed in the corporate search engine above. The ones that are not are most likely franchised hotels that are not operated by Hilton, these hotels you need to contact directly for employment information, some list their job listings on their corporate websites, others may post job listings at hotel job websites like www.hcareers.com

Good Luck.

As the previous poster stated, a lot of Hilton properties are franchised. The best results I have had were achieved pounding the pavement and actually going to the hotel personally. My experience with online applications has been fairly negative. I feel as though you are lost in the shuffle.

I have even physically shown up to properties that I have applied online and nabbed an interview, only to be told they never saw my application online. I was hired in both instances, so it really does benefit to do a formal in-person follow-up.

When you do enter a job site: bring a pen. Dress the part. Treat EVERYONE like a boss. The feedback from line staff can make or break you as well, especially at the Front Desk.
