What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable? How does Homeland Security stack up against the competition? |

I have gone through the screening process. Takes about 7 months. Then you not automatically hired. You are put on a waiting list for a year. Anytime during that year they can call you for a job. And most likely you would only have to update your background check and a drug test. My question would be is it really worth all that trouble of trying to get the job? No hiring process should take months to be put on a list to be hired. Most people needing a job need a job now, not 7 to 12 months later. And is the government wasting money sending people through the hiring process? I figure the majority of people that go through the process don't accept a job offer after waiting over a year. |

Yes Dave I agree and that is unfortunate. I'm retiring from the Air Force after 21 years experience in aviation operations and don't have 7+ months to wait for TSA to make a decision. I also noticed they send you off for training AND don't pay for it. I'm surprised they keep employees. Respectfully |

I was hired by them in July. Only about a month after taking the test. Training was 2 weeks long and was local. Monday - Friday 830-5. ....The hours are BAD. just a warning...first shift is 4am. then 5am and 6am. your other choice is 6pm to 10pm if you're part time... |

I guess it depends on where you live and how big the turn over rate is. |
