Every business has its own style. What is the office environment and culture like at ITT Technical Institute? Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers? What is a typical day in the life of an employee at ITT Technical Institute? |

This is not a good place to work at all. In one month 6 people have quit in the sales department. I am not sure what position you are going for but a for a sale rep. it is not a wise choice. You are monitored, and bascially you will sit at a desk for 8 hours calling ridiculous so called leads. These kids will make appointments to see the school and never show up. The Dean will say it is your fault for not closing them on the phone. Once your training is over they expect unrealistic number of starts. Do not waste your time with this company. They only care about how many people start and they do not care about you or the students. I know the starting salary sounds great, but is is a big scam. Plus the amount of money per credit hour is ridiculous! Around $42K for an associates degree for two years! |

The office environment and culture at the OKC campus can be defined in one word: horrible. Most of the staff are some of the most unprofessional, disrespectful and abrasive people I have seen in the education field. There are so many staff members that are angry about being on disciplinary action due to their poor performance, they are crying because they feel they are underpaid or they just hate their life and try to take their misery out on other employees. The office dress code is business but few can even muster a decent pair of pants that fir properly. Some have issues with personal hygiene which is disgusting and sad when you are over the age of 30.

ITT sucks.. accreditation is worthless to every employer, the cost of attending is OUTRAGEOUS for an invalid and unaccepted degree.. what a joke.. instructors dont care and just giving passing grades to make them look good.. recruiters and financial aid get paid more money if they get more students in the door so they will say anything to sign you up and then provide you with a joke degree and debt you will never be able to pay back.. word |

This is the worst place I have ever worked. I was a former program chair. Above all else you are expected to keep students in your program. If a student quits your program and goes to another program inside of the same campus it is counted as a drop against you for one year. How fair is that, the student is still there and attending school they just switched programs. You are expected to get one out of every 10 students who drop to "reenter." If they do not reenter it is your fault because you are not engaging enough. You are expected to call students who miss school and document why they missed. You are held accountable if your engagement dips below a certain percentage. Engagement rate is just like attendance with the added twist that if someone drops out of your class they are counted absent for the rest of the quarter. I had one student get incarcerated in the middle of the quarter. A number of other students had boyfriend / girlfriend issues and had to move because of them. The reason they dropped had nothing to do with me or the school. It still was held against me though. We are mandated to have an advisory committee meet twice a year to advise us on ways to improve the curriculum. For 18 months the advisory committee recommended a $65 book to be placed in the library. It was never approved by the administration, I was told by the administration, "If I buy this book, how is that going to get more students to come to this school." If that is not bad enough, students are allowed to talk to instructors anyway they want and the administration will do nothing to them. There are written policies in place that deal with this, however the administration will not enforce them because they do not want the students to get mad and drop. |

I can echo the Academic Instructor's sentiments from above. There is no company culture. Your colleagues and superiors---I use that term in the loosest possible sense---are inept and barely literate phantoms. If you decide to work there, prepare yourself for an experience not unlike indentured servitude. |
