It's always hard to know what to expect when going in for that interview -- and preparation can make all the difference. What is the interview process like at InterContinental Hotels?

Any advice on striking the right note?

InterContinental Hotels in my opinion, does not extend a level playing field to gay & lesbian communities; even if they are more than qualified.

I am not sure you want to work there. Yes, the folks in the group that is hiring for this position are a little stuck up

James,

I thought the hotel in Austin was a franchise hotel. As a company we are very inclusive of gays and lesbians. It is part of our employee guidelines and sexual orientation is a protected status. Unfortunately we can not control that in the franchise community.

Your comments were helpful, but the reality is always something different. Being a francise company does not exempt it from local discrimnation ordinances, nor from just doing the 'right thing'.
