I just got hired with JC Penney's what should I expect during orientation?

How long did they take before the hiring manager called you for training?

Jcpenney is a horrible company to work for. If they are all like the store I work at, management plays favorites to extremes. If you are not a favorite, then good luck getting recognized for good work no matter how hard you try. They are doing pretty well considering the economic situation yet still declare a "pay freeze" for the fiscal year. They rarely give breaks to those whose departments don't have many employees at any given time--even if they are legally supposed to have a break. They also push credit cards, and care plans, sales goals, etc. without offering any incentives (they rarely pay me what I deserve for credit apps) and I have heard that it Is the managers who get bonuses for us reaching credit app goals--not us. Management forces us to "brainwash" our customers into taking the online survey (and rating us highly) by making us write "highly satisfied" on the receipt. Also, they quite often subtract time from your time sheet. Often times when I'm on time to work, I will look later and it says I was 7 mins late. This is so they can slowly but surely pay you less over time. There is no way to prove that they have done this, so you have to just deal with it as far as I know. Honestly, I can't imagine a worse job. I will be SO out of here as soon as I can.

I doubt all stores are the same. The flagship store in Manhattan Mall New York is the best! They really treat their employees great there......though its sort of new, three months ole to be exact!!.....
