This is something I had written out for someone a while back with a general description of what I've had to go through with the hiring process. I hope it helps. 1. 12/1/2010 - I applied for about 40 jobs online at KBR. 2. 12/7/2010, I received an email from a recruiter asking if I was interested in a job. At this time I had to email her a general information sheet as well as a copy of my valid passport. (If you do not have a valid passport you will need to get one, and the recruiter should be able to help you. I think it may be easier to get a job if you already have one.) The recruiter then gave me a phone number to call into a teleconference that discussed various aspects of the job; risks, requirements, etc. Afterward I told the recruiter I was still interested. 3. 12/21/2010 - I started to receive paperwork from KBR to fill out. This included; Regional Specific Training for Iraq, Benefits Forms, Dental Release Form (You will have to visit a dentist and they will need to fill out the form to give you an all clear), and other misc. forms to fill out. I also received Fingerprint cards and a PSIP (I believe it was for a background check, not sure what the acronym stands for) in the mail. I had to get my fingerprints taken at a local police station ($10). I had to email and mail various forms back to KBR as indicated in the instructions received. I sent the fingerprints back by 12/25/2010 and any other paperwork was emailed back by 1/5/2011. I also had to take a WABI test during this general time period. The WABI is a personality test, multiple choice, and KBR will give you instructions on where to take the test. You want to answer as if you are NOT a risk taker and you value team work and rules. 4. On 2/16/2011 I received an email from my recruiter saying that my OPM had cleared me to go and I would be processing on 2/28. She didn't even realize I hadn't had to fill out the 85P until I told her. It has taken about 3 months. |

hey sunshine i thought you would have gotten your inteniary this week. i talked to my recrutiter and she said she got a bunch of approvals today.(opm) she said it seems they are moving a bit faster. i even called psip this morning and she said they upgraded their system. i don't think people here realize its not just kbr's people they deal with, its all the other contractors too. i can imagine all the paperwork they have to keep up with. i read where people here get stressed about not putting jobs and so forth, they can't possibly have time to sit and check every lil thing on the form, can you imamgine how much time it would take? they understand not employer is going to respond in a timely matter, thats why things like that wouldn't hold you up. also thats why they have that little box on the side(est) because they know that everyone is not going to be 100% accurate. i mean we have to think logical. if me and you were he only ones hey had to do,we would have be done yesterday. hope this helps all the stressees out there, PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE!!!!!!!! |

Well, I'll throw my two cents in here, I think the reason some of us have been in limbo for a while was because of the bad weather we had for Texas all the way to the east coast. I think it's just taken them some time to chatch up and get things rolling again. Hopefully things will be happening for us a bit faster now. |

Hey Guys, based on what okalex is saying, even though you don't have a SF85P process to complete (only a transfer), it still may take approx 3 months. Looks like it is, what it is 9lol!!!) and 3 months is the average. Anyone still waiting longer than 15 days for the SF85P? |

I don't think they do that anymore. You have to do the actually sf85 and submit it. |
