Dirk McDougal in Rome, Georgia said: Do They check A1C during inprocessing if your blood sugar is in order? I am not sure exactlly what they test for but they take either 5 or 6 vials of blood so I am pretty sure they test for just about everything. One thing for sure that will disqualify you is if you are on insullin. |

I have seen alot of post about having to have a passport prior to arriving in Houston is this a change because when I went through about 20 months ago KBR loaded everyone up on a bus that needed a passport and drove into houston to the federal building and you got your passport the following day and KBR footed the bill. |

I'd like to post my first question to socalna and Ksniper777. I would like to get any information you can give me on the wastewater operator side of the house or where I can find the info or maybe who to talk to. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to anyone who can help. The best bet for waste water jobs would be to send your resume to earnest.long@kbr.com Also if you want email me and I will get you his phone# just keep my name out of the discussion as I am moving to a differnt company but in the event it does not work out I may want to come back to KBR in the future. Good luck |

These are "Local Holidays" Of course we all go to the local waterslide, beach, or mall on our "days off" :) Actually that day off from work sometimes seems like a week after catching up on needed sleep and of course, cleaning the hooch. |

alcoa in greenville, South Carolina said: no over time 75%up There is "overtime" pay, anything after 40 hours is overtime, it is not "time and a half" or "double pay" unfortunately we abide by every other USA rule except their labor laws...you will be paid overtime for straight hours...$2583 divided by 160 hours is your monthly base hourly rate. All your "big" money comes from the first 40 hours of pay. Rumor is they are cutting down to 77 hours a week instead of 84 hours in the near future also. |

Gabriele in Troy, Montana 32 months ago |
nick in houston in Houston, Texas said: My base is 2583 On a 4 week check you will get about 6794.64 Gross. On 5 week its about 8493.30. So after Fica, (1.45% medicare and 6.2% Social Security) and Family insurance (500) you would have take home of about $5774 (4 week) and $7343 (5 week). Gabi |

Yes Carl, they changed it earlier this year. March I think. My husband and son along with a few others spouses on here where the last ones that got to do it Houston. Now you have to have passport in hand when you apply. Good luck to you Carl. |

Can anyone tell me what simms card would be best for hubby to buy so I can call him? He has no clue of the differences and I am not there to check them out. Any advice would be appreciated. Also, what way would be the best way for me to call Iraq? Calling card or is there a plan I can get somewhere? My phone provider charges 1.95 per minute,, that is sooo not happening. |

Nashville Kat in Tennessee said: I can do alot of stuff, but I can't back up straight! LOL I was a Log. Coordinator for two years in Iraq. If you haven't already --- get really good with Microsoft Office programs --- you will use Outlook, Excel, Access, and Word on a daily basis. I also used Powerpoint a lot as well, but it depends on where you work. I would become familiar with it just in case. I was pretty busy in my section, but there was only 2 of us -- me and my supervisor. Some Log. Coordinators are more busy than others, just depends on where you are and what you are assigned to. The common theme is lots of reports, spreadsheets, databases, etc... I loved it... Good luck |

Hello. I may be getting a job offer but am wondering whether to take it or not. I've heard some people went over there and came right back because of hiring freezes, that people get fired easily, etc. And do you really make 84k a year? Where do you live, in a tent? Does anyone live in the embassy over there? What about working as a postal clerk over there? Is that a stable job there? thanks for any help |
