Carl Ballow in Baqubah, Iraq said: Bug your recruiter as much as needed to get the point across that is there job to get you to Houston and don't worry about getting the recruiter upset if you pass the medical screening and don't freak out during the gas mask training and make sure you make it to all of the meetings (all day everyday) on time then you pretty much have the job and more then likely you will never actually see your recruiter. On contract signing night the recruiter each take a group based on your last name like A-C D-G etc and they read over your contract and you sign I advise you all to read it through because there are alot of things in there that they don't tell you about that have a tendency to come back to bite you when you hit theater. The major thing is a part stating your job description but read it because it says something to the effects of the duties listed are your primary duties but you may be required to perform additional task as deemed neccesary. And dont think you won't I have been in a supervisor position for months but getting payed as a foreman and there is nothing I can do about it because of that little loop hole in the contract. Take care and best of luck to you all during processing. was worried if i keep bothering my recruiter would maybe lose my info isn't their anyone else to check with. if anyone can help and doesn't want to put on here my email is tresa129@live.com |

i just filled out the supplemental data, it seems like this is the step before the travel. am i right? BG took 3 days (in the last 7, had about 4/5/6 addresses, lol). i filled it out late friday. and got the supplemental data form today. as for travel, i read on here, you get travel arrangements either thrusday or friday. so either today, or first thing tomorrow |

One thing for all of you going to Houston to remember is to not go wandering outside after dark. Official name is greenpoint. Unofficial name is Gunpoint. Take your cell with you, this way you can talk to your loved ones in the evening. Long distance calls from the hilton require a $50 dollar deposit (did when hubby was there in feb), also would not let him use his calling card without the deposit. |

LOL, no snow for me yet Walter. :). Just gets cold at night |

My son took his cell phone to houston then mailed it home just before he flew out. Mind you, back in feb. Cells werent allowed in country. Now you can have one unless your on a marine site. As for laptops, most camps have internet. Prices vary but my kid had his through sniperhill and it cost him about 90 a month. Hubby of course is in a billeting area and can't get internet wired in, its a bunker so wireless is pointless unless he wants to sit outside :). sigh, someday. :D |

Thanks to all who helped me get here! My lovely bride has been lurking on this forum since I left Houston. She has kept me up to date on all that has been happening here. Sad that the forum of old had to change as idol chitchat gave me and others much needed info as needed. I want to publicly thank Gabriele for e-mails to my honey and answers that were given. Again thanks all!! |

The last item we filled in before we got travel info. For you all traveling this weekend. The worst of it is the last step--waiting on the travel. Remember to contact your recruiter if travel does not show up in your email box by noon tomorrow. Don't panic, doesn't mean anything is wrong, just sometimes it doesn't get there as it is suppose to. Also check your spam in your email cause sometime it goes in there. |

Gave me his room number and the hotel phone number so I could call him in his room. |

tresa129 in Norwalk, Ohio said: my recruiter still says they do not have my background and did supplemental data form a week ago. Get ahold of your recruiter and find out if they have gotten it yet, if not tell the recruiter that you have a copy of the report and that you were told by accurate that your report was uploaded to kbr. Recruiter might be busy and in a hurry or something messed up in the computer. Bug them, in a polite way :) |
