Potential medical disqualifiers!!!! KBR will conduct a thorough pre-employment screening/physical, including, blood work, EKG (over age 40 or as necessary), chest x-ray, medical exam and immunizations. Other studies will be done as indicated. Due to the inherent danger and limited medical facilities in Central Asia and the Middle East, the following are potential medical disqualifiers: Coronary artery disease with angina, or a history of congestive heart failure or cardiomyopathy
Vision impairments that are not correctable to 20/40 with corrective lenses

Gabriele in Troy, Montana said: One thing for all of you going to Houston to remember is to not go wandering outside after dark. Official name is greenpoint. Unofficial name is Gunpoint. FYI:No one in Houston calls the greenspoint area gunspoint anymore, that was back in the 1980s and it's not that bad like you think. Please believe people in the Gallaria area, The Woodlands, or any other high ended area of Houston is just as bad as Greenspoint if you ask me. |

For those of you that have gone through processing. How do they handle the sf85p? do you sit down with someone from the government and they conduct the background or do you just turn it in and they run your info? Also what are they looking for? |

It's the instructors in Houston that called it that in February. I am sure that there are worse areas any where in the united states. Just think the instructors are made a point of still calling it that because a lot of people attending processing are not used to some of the things that happen in any bigger city. Just wanting to make sure people are more alert in their surroundings maybe? Again, I was not trying to make the area out to be the worst ever. I don't think it matters where you are from, every place has good side and bad side. |

You submit your info.. like social... etc.. and they have a company conduct the check.. My husband received a print out of the check... when my hubby went through it I think it was No felonies in the last 7 yrs.. I think they look for any owed/bad taxes and child support too.. others might know more details |

Hi Mona, This is strange but I see your comment to me in my email but I don't see it on this board. hmmm... Well, I was wondering if you could help me out Do you know anyone that has a position as an Administrative Associate or Specialist with KRB? I've applied for all of those positions and I know that I'm really qualified but haven't heard back yet. Do you have a resume of someone that has one of those positions? I'm thinking that maybe my terminology or phrasing may be inaccurate. Any help would be so much appreciated. I'd love the opportunity to support the troops and do my what I can in the middle east. Thanks |

Ksniper had a question i saw mona posted those medical possible disqualification. I had an arguement with a guy this morning who worked with KBR like me but is now here with this company. He said there is no way KBR can enforce that policy since they hadnt in the past and it would be law suits. I tried to tell him its not KBR its the military and its not the same as race or sex discrimination. I cant get it thru his thick head but I saw first hand Dyn Corp try to get a waiver for someone whos BMI was 42 and it was denied. So I was asking you if you knew, How do they enforce this policy without geting sued for telling someone hey you cant work here because your to fat? |

I'm leaving for processing on the 11th I have filled out my supplemental data forms and emailed them already . Waiting on itinerary Seems like there is so much to do before I feel comfortable leaving my family behind but I know they will be ok . What should I expect in Houston ? And what should I expect in Iraq ? |

They will have to sue the military it is not KBR, Dyncorp or Fluor who made this decision. They have reasons why they do not want people who exceed this requirement. I hope folks listen what you have said as having witness this as well as health reasons, PPE requirements and the ability to get you out of a situation so it does not take 5 people to move you. I would not want to be waiting in a hot zone while 4 people struggle to drag your ass on the helo or into the MRAP. I am sure people will be mad, but that is the way it is. I just saw this post. I assume the forum was lagging again. |

AGUISON4 in Magnolia, Texas said: ksniper do you know the dress code ? like collared shirts or just plain reg t-shirts ?? and what about tattoos ? if you are a office worker or a supervisor or above you must wear a collard shirt and have it tucked in. if you work outside then a t shirt is ok as long as it is in good taste. No revealing, low cut or extremely tight clothes are not allowed as well as sagging pants and oversized t shirts and don't forget your hat and lanyard failing any of these you get your a 5 day vacation without pay or sent home. Some camps enforce this and some have people out checking for this and you don't want to be the example they make. |
