My husband Daniel Henry has applied several times for several jobs through KBR. My father who used to work for KBR gave us his recruiters number (for electrician) and suggested that we try to get in touch with him and see if he could direct us to the right person for my husband (carpenter, or laborer). We left several messages and got no response. Could you maybe look at his resume and just give us some pointers on how to improve it to become more eyecatching. thanks

I actually live in Houston and I am wondering if I will receive any kind of e-mail confirmation via e-mail prior to going to processing? I have read on this site, that an itinerary e-mail is sent for people that are flying into Houston, but what if you live in Houston?

Another question is, are you able to get Skoal or tobacco products once you're in Iraq?

I'm sure you will receive an itinerary-they have to let you know where you are going to be staying and when to sign in. Also, they sell cigarettes in the PX. Much cheaper than in the states.

My recruiter told me a couple of weeks ago to arrive at a specific hotel on Sunday, at about 3pm. But, I'm just wondering if there will be any type of confirmation.... I haven't heard from my recruiter since I started all of the paperwork.

I should have gone out on the 14th December, i have to wait for a visa how long will kbr wait and keep the job open, do they need a lot of british electricians.

Yes electricians are in big demand right now so you shouldnt have a problem. What visa are you waiting for ? You can just get a stamp when you enter the States i thought.They give you 3 months on a visitor visa.

yeah , my recruiter told me ill recieve an itinerary the friday before i fly out which im leaving on Jan 18th and he said i should recieve my itinerary on the 16th. so you should get something the friday before your scheduled fly out date. Our recruiters are set to work on certain job titles. Even if you happen to "Firstname.Lastname @ kbr .com to e-mail them. If the e-mail bounces, try another one." and this isnt the right recruiter for the job in which your trying to apply....
your resume is going to get deleted. and you have wasted your time.

Unless you know 100% what information you are giving to people Jennifer Anthony, I wouldn't recommend GIVING IT! your not only wasting these candidates time, but your delaying our recruiting time by making us check our email and deleting unnecessary unwanted trash email.
Now, if you know someone specifically in the recruiting side that will take the time to send your resume to the right recruiter then by all means. But I can guarantee you, after being here 6 years, 99.9% of us, delete emails that dont pertain to the specfic work WE ARE LOOKING FOR, ESPECIALLY FROM CANDIDATES! no offense, none at all, but we dont have the time, to go through every last email sent to us by someone spending all day saying "hmmm.. lets try sarah dot brooks dot KBR dot com!!!!"

Ok so Ive had the conference call, received the e-mailed job packet and done my e-mailing and faxing of the necessary documents, including the dental..how long does it take for them to email the background check and MVR ?also tried to schedule a WABI test and was told I was not 'in the system'. When do they tell you where you will actually be deployed to ?

it all takes time---don't be so impatient.

Supplemental arrived yesterday, sent that one out, guess we're moving along !

I am scheduled to take the WABI exam on Feb. 2nd and I am SUPER NERVOUS.....My Mom told me to think about safety and teamwork and be honest and I shoudl do fine. Does anyone else have any pointers?

im from Macedonia, and i got recruted by KBR in macedonia, and everything was going ok untill the day when they sent me the itenerary, the itenerary was to fly on December 5, 2008, but i got my U.S. visa in Skopje (madeconia) on December 11, 2008. so, the itenerary was sent to me 6 days before i got visa, of course i emailed my recruiter about the problem, and he said that i should wait for another ticket, but its been 2 month and a half from the last email i got from the recruter.

I worked for KBR since September 2006 in the Kabul area as a Cook. In the month of September 2008 I decided to DEMOB. I completed 2 full years with KBR and was very tired and needed a break. The only way I was able to take the break I needed was to DEMOB with the hopes of being able to return within a few months.

Does anyone have a list or know of what things that will get you sent home? In regards to health issues during your medical exam. Do they allow you to take blood preasure medicine?

He was scheduled to go to camp victory, his badge says camp liberty, apparenty victory north changed its name to liberty, its F1 base. He just had his medical yesterday, gruelling. Quite a few had problems with high bloodpressure, told to return in 7 days after seeing their doctors. He will know more today how many didnt make it. Get lots of sleep now, its long days, husband gets picked up between 4.30am and 5.30am and doesnt get home till about 7.30pm. He is exhausted.

I do not want to upset the recruiter by contacting them too many times, but with these times and economy I would like to know if there is a better way to find this out or if you can help. Can anyone help me with what they are looking for on the background check? Do they hold one speed ticket against you? This is the only that I have.

No one has seen Journee or any of the others on here for quite some time. Congradulations on your job. I myself, and this is what I would do if it were me, I would try to stay in contact with the recruiter as much as possible. many of us who were to finish our paperwork and go to processing were left out in the cold. One day they were talking to us and the next they weren't.

A speeding ticket shouldn't hurt you as long as the fines were paid and if it was asked on any of the paperwork, you wrote it down. Many of us put our job searches on hold when KBR told us we had the jobs and then when they disappeared and stopped answering their phones it hurt a lot of us financially. We were promised in January and here it is April and still not working.

You have to do what is right for you. I just personally would try to stay on top of it. Sorry I couldn't be much help.

Hi, no worries, they do not/ will not hold a speeding ticket against you. Most important thing with the background is just to be honest. They did send a few out this week–overseas. There is a slow down of course. I do understand the economy concerns. They do appear to be still hiring though and bringing in a few in for processing at a time–its just really slowed down–and even stalled off and on. Have you tried other companies? Fluor, Dynocorp, Aecom etc, if you can not wait. Best of luck.

Plus they told me they are only processing once in April and once in May as of right now.
