Question for Ksniper or anyone else with prior time over in Iraq - hubby landed in Camp Anaconda two days ago for training. His paperwork puts Camp Hammer as his final destination. Can't find much information about Hammer when I google it - what can anyone tell me?

he may be there for training Hammer is close to Baghdad. It is a camp outskirt of Baghdad. They have hooches and tents. Not much more information than that.

is he there already? what day did he arrive? my hubby was in iraq until september...just before he came back for r&r, he got a transfer to bagram...he went straight there from Dubai after r&r.

This is his first time with kbr. Im not sure if he is there yet or not. as of 10am our time he was in Dubia leaving from there at midnight (their time).

Hi...mine is an electrician also! He's been in Houston since the 19th, so far so good on his medical eval and other tests. When did you find out he was going to Afghanistan? We still don't know. I was thinking he would likely go to Iraq since they need extra electricians to fix the problems there...but maybe not!? This forum has helped me thru these past few days, I hope you will continue to report your hubby's progress!!

Carrigon.. I know .. Gosh I wish my day was already over.. My period 2 really makes me hate teaching... they complain about everything ... HW? WHY? They wont be quiet.. they dont have any manners.....they are so disrespectful... UGGHH!! I feel like I did my first week of my first year as a teacher!!! and that was 9 years ago...

Ok.. deep breath..

Anything Im going through here is no where close to what our hubbies have to deal with over there...

performing the operations and maintence task for logcap 4. was involved with a discussion
with a sgt. who was told by the aco that fluor will now being doing it for the south also.
reason being dyncorp had cut the wages so low and tried to force the issue of the
economies turmoil on to kbr employees and told them that there is no work to go to in the
states and told the bosnians the same. they laughed at them and said i guess "we will take
our chances with that and see what happens". they were expecting to take at least 80% of
kbr's workforce and they only have 10%. .

Tactically, It appears KBR anticipated the poaching and rolled-back the key staff in
theatre (at the mgmt level) to let the dust settle. Dyn & Flor probably got "the best of
the worst" left in theatre and now KBR appears to be ramping back up with their "A-Team"
in an effort to pick up the pieces when the other two face-plant.

No disrespect meant to the folks still over there .... just what it looks like from this
side.

As my hubby will be working in Management, I am sure he will get updated real quick as to what "Really" is going on.... Until he tells me there is a problem - there is NO problem. Dyn is filling those positions at rapid speed now...

Did I ever tell you my original major was secondary math education? I switched majors as soon as I was done the practicum...didn't even get to student teaching. It was too much for me! lol Teachers have my utmost respect and admiration...you guys rock!!

My husband also did the same. They had a meeting today and now they are sending him to Kabul. He is a carpenter i think he really wanted to stay in Bagram so we will see. His plans changed when he arrived in Dubai he was to go to Iraq but it was changed to Afganistan to Bagram and now they are sending him to Kabul anyone know what the conditions are there i would love some input

Ok i would love to have some input about Kabul. My husband left houston to Dubai thinking he was going to Iraq but they changed that and sent him to Afganistan to Bagram but now they are moving him to Kabul. He is a carpenter and i just need to find out what is up in Kabul. Any input would be great

I know what you mean...my kids do that sometimes...as if they might just do whatever it is if the consequence isn't that bad! lol I don't know what they think sometimes...I would have never thought to ask my parents what the consequences were!!
