Can anyone tell me how Hazel is? Has MrsL. heard from her hubby?

Also, for all going to Houston, get a calling card. Try nobelcom.com, my hubby uses it and it last forever it seems. (thanks for that tip Tstorm :o) ).

Gabi, Hazel had her surgery, she is recovering but she fell and opened up the incision--so she is on bed rest through thursday.

Carrigon's little guy is also back in the ER. Just six yrs old he had his appendix out a couple of weeks ago, and he's spiked a fever again.

Sending prayers and happy thoughts their way.

Hi,
I wanted to thank all the good people trying to help with information. I tried searching, but had a couple questions for those experienced with KBR.
What is the work assessment like? Is it strictly medical/physical, or do they put you on a treadmill and heart monitor for a while?
On the drug screening, do they just use the blood they collect, or do they use urine or hair? If urine, do they stand staring at you!? That's always weirded me out, but if that's what you've got to do, you got to do. Thanks.

that is correct about only hiring US Citizens due to the a new homeland security requirement. the trust agent who is responsible for CAC cards is required to do a background investigation and until they allow any flexibilty that is the rule now US Citizens only.

Ksnipper777 you mentioned that you had friends that were recruiters. My husband has been home since March and has been applying for everything and anything that he might remotely be qualified to do with any company that is in Iraq or Afghanistan. Would it be possibe for you to look at his resume and help him get it into the right hands????? He is a logistics coordinator. Most of his experience with the LOGCAP Project is in the maintenance division. He worked as an admin. assistant, dispatcher, and on up the ladder. He has three years working in Iraq. Any way you can help us out?????

Hey Ya'll!
Glad I finally found you guys!
Jimmy has finally made it back to his camp today. He had to extend his R & R due our (Former) dentist failing us. We had to get a Medical LOA from KBR. KBR was great about the whole deal. Jimmy supposed to go back on the 8th, but it was the 17th before he got to leave.

But I learned somethings that I thought I would pass along:
1. No amount of planning eliminates problems.
2. Dentist can be mis-leading. You need to know if they do their lab work in house
or do they send it out to be done. Most send out to labs because the equip.
is expensive.
3. If you need to extend your R & R due to medical reasons, get in touch with KBR
ASAP. It takes time to get the paperwork shuffled between Houston and medical
or in our case, dentist. And getting the release is still a shuffle. I had to
Keep hounding the Dentist because they really didn't seem to care one way or
another. They got their money for the partial and we're out a week of work.

Other than that, the old goat and I had a great time. The G-Baby ran him ragged! His little dog was proud to see him. And he likes the house that i got while he was gone.

Check in later.
Kathy

Indeed is having technical difficulties, they are working to fix them. Sometimes you can see the posts and sometimes you can't. Just be patient, they will get them fixed. In the meantime, what I did to be able to keep better track of postings is sign up to get comments by email. If you decide to go that way, make sure your able to check your email frequently, otherwise you will be swamped. I can see the new posts that way and respond to them.

Carrigon, how is your little one?????

He's doing okay. He developed an infection at the site of the appendectomy. So they have been giving him IV antibiotics. They decided to send him home on them too, so they are installing a PICC line today. I a nervous as heck about that b/c I will have to inject them myself...scary!! I have never done anything like that. And it goes in through the arm...ends up at the top of the heart. No stress, though...right! ;)

Then last night my son who's 19 dislocated his finger yesterday playing rugby at college. He had it set but is in a lot of pain. My guys are aking me gray!

GOOD NEWS is my big guy - hubby - in at the BTC on his way home for some much needed r&r!!!

I would like to say thank you to everyone who posts useful information to these forums. When you are desperatly searching for a job it helps to have somewhere you can network with others who have been here and done it. There are many good contacts posted thru the indeed site. Personally I have used almost every suggestion that has been made. My husband does not have a job yet but it will happen I am sure at some point. It just needs to be SOON!!!!!!

JDCS, welcome back. =)

Kathy, thank you for the tips.

Carrigon, you and your little man are in my thoughts and prayers. You’ll be able to do it and he will be happy to go home I am sure. Hospital is a scary place when they are so young, but I am sure he is loving all of his mama’s attention.

Got an email from Hazel, she doing well, just in pain from the surgery. She’s got to keep her foot up a lot so hard for her to be on computer right now. She sent warm thoughts to everyone and is missing all.

Kids get keys to appartment at 5!!! Yeah! And I found a couple of poor college students with truck since daughter's HS friends schedule are so tied up. The college boys were happy for the work and now I can start going to auctions again too. Have not been able to do so with hubby being gone--cause if I got something how would I get it home and up three flights of stairs?

Hope everyone has a lovely afternoon.

I am going over as a material control specialist. I just finished my Wabi exam and passed. now I am waiting for the background check. Do you know how long that takes?
Now I need to go shopping for winter stuff because San Antonio does not get that cold. I am schedule to leave on Oct. 11. So, I can go to the processing center at 7 am on Monday morning.
