However my recruiter did state that they have no intentions of processing people on the 20th of December (or the 27th obviously), so I would expect that your date would be somewhere around Jan 4th (all things considered of course..) You may want to contact your recruiter though, just to make sure your background investigation does not expire before the 4th. (yes there is a time limit on these things). Good luck! |

Does anyone know how long the ''Accurate background'' check takes? I did it a month ago and my recruiter e-mailed me telling me it's not back yet

Did you have to go to an Army facility and get fingerprinted again for the E-qip? Just wondering. I sent my fingerprints back to KBR in late November. I called the PSI center yesterday and asked if KBR had sent them the fingerprints. They stated that they had not received them. Just wondering how your process took place. |

the background shouldnt take that long.... do you have an estimated process date? I would imagine less than one week is average.... |

The difference is that if they put you in for a SECRET clearance (SF86), your initial paperwork is done and you are given an interim clearance. You can deploy with that while the complete investigation is finished. The investigation can take up to 6 months before you are actually granted the clearance, nut that doesn't matter because you are working. There is no such system with the SF85, it has to be 100% complete before you become CAC card eligible. You can not deploy until you have a CAC card. With the new CAC card procedures, the system is really bogged down. It can take months for it to clear. |

I'm not an SME on CAC procedures but Dyn still sends all expats over without there SF-85 approval, they recieve there yea or nay will in country, I've seen people get sent home after being here 4mths, only a few, the security folks here screen the paperwork prior to deployment to make sure it's good but they can't find it all. |

Hey Salt, Are they issuing them CAC cards or are they just using their LOA? |

So hard to decide what to pack..... I hear it's best to bring as little as possible but also I dont want to short myself and have to wait for a package from home. Is it best to pack all you need 2 bags or pack lite with one bag with enough to get buy? On the fence mainly because I don't know how much cold weather gear to bring etc... I will be inside can't imagine needed full on cold WX gear. |

It is getting colder at night and the rain started yesterday. My camp has a PX, (in a connex) so you better get everything you need to buy in Baghdad or another big hub site. Congrats and good luck. |

Gone Fishing in Forsyth, Georgia said: Hey Salt, using LOA's, then when in country they finish the investigations and they send you an updated LOA showing the NACI clearence when it's over, and a time line of 30 days to go back to KAF and get your CAC card. on average 2-4 months some longer and some shorter, also like what's happening here for the gutys that transitioned with KBR there getting emails saying there CAC cards they have in there possession are null and void and must complete the SF-85 or there terminated, there all pissed off, there CAC cards are good for another 2 years, looks like the syatem is getting stream lined. |
|
Gone Fishing in Forsyth, Georgia 17 months ago |
From what I understand, Fluor is having the new hires complete their investigation before they are allowed to fly to Greenville. Those that transitioned from KBR filled their SF85 out after their transition and are awaiting CAC card approval while working, it's been 6 months or longer for some. |

Hey guys. Can anyone tell me what the SECRET clearance (SF86) translates to in the civilian (non-contractor) world? Will this be an asset when my husband's contract is over? We live near a number of military bases so will this help him get a job when he is back home? Thanks for your help. |
|
Gone Fishing in Forsyth, Georgia 17 months ago |
Your husband's secret clearance will open up a lot of jobs dealing with the military or working on a military facility. It is even a requirement for some companies that manufacture items for the military. Look on usajobs.com, these are jobs with the federal government, quite a few will require a clearance. |

Eddie in Lake Charles, Louisiana said: Since it took 2 months for Accurate Background Inc. to clear my DD214 from the Army They probably found someone to fill that position and it is a strong possibility they are not accepting anymore applications at this time for your position. I knew a guy who had to leave processing and they would let him return unless he had a valid and verified excuse for leaving. Again not sure why they have contacted you but if did before they will again. |

My husband and I just got notifications that we will be processing in Houston on February 13th. Anyone else received that date? Very excited. Hopefully processing will go smoothly and we will both be deployed. |
